No offence, my dear, but when you advertise... 'Mandarin'.

 

Actually, I have a suggestion for you as well... don't offer classes in Putonghua - offer classes in Shanghaiese (if you can).

 

We already know some Putonghua, and many foreign business-people can speak it better than average foreigners. However, having that little edge in Shanghaiese might make a nice bit of difference!! You can advertise that you can teach foreigners to speak like the Shanghai local business people, and the much greater benefits that come from that.

If you work at a foreign company (that also has expats here rather than just being listed in another country) it'll be easy for you to find students.

I've known several people do that and one met her husband that way too.

if you want to earn extra money. become a tour guide who sleeps with her clients. you can choose young handsome english guys as clients. if they refuse to sleep with you, charge them extra.
