If China was to change its political system which one would be best to run a country of such a size and population??
I asked the same question, to my 80 year old g'ma, and her jaw dropped and whispered, you'll get put away for asking and thinking like that !
I never got a reply, so yeah, if it did change, when will we see it happen ? Would you leave China during it's transition ?

I think the transition would be scary. I just find it had to think of another system that would work in this vast country with so many people to please. It would make for interesting times!
Socialism would work great in china even if the economy remained somewhat state controlled . i have always wanted to see a real elected dictatorship . because then you blame one person and eliminate the excuses.
No point in answering. The last political question like this got deleted. My 10 page research paper answering the question was irreversibly deleted by the kitty.
Present govt suits best for china.. ppl do have freedom.. just they are not able to misuse it... thats why so much protest against govt... Democracy sucks!!..
Cronyism is far too entrenched here for much to change.
Even if the Mao Dynasty were to come to an end...and China became a democracy...it would just slip back into a new autocratic dynasty under a different banner.
How much has Egypt changed? Or Libya?
It'll take time, but something more like the American version of democracy... the rich and powerful will influence who gets into politics, so that they can continue controlling the state.
(ie, not muc different to now). However, the one thing that may change is the illusion... people may actually start to believe they have more say in what goes on, and occasionally, the govt will do something (small) to keep that illusion (delusion) going.
What would work best - different story. Firstly, the masses need more education, and a better standard of living... fortunately, this is happening... and it's something the current regime needs to be aware of (and worry about) - education always leads to change!
