Q: If China were a child how old would it be?

Here are some developmental traits of a 4-5 year old as determined by good ol' child psychology:

' a dynamo of energy, drive, bossiness, belligerence, and generally out-of-bounds behavior'.

Sound like the state of China ?

Here are the traits of a young adult:

'Late adolescents finally come quite close to adulthood to have a firm identity and more stable interests. Soon-to-be-adults and already adult kids attain greater emotional stability finally and have a more developed sense of humor. They are able to keep a little patience when there is a delay in gratification of their desires, and are able to think ideas through. They learn to express their feelings in words, compromise and make independent decisions. Unlike the earlier stages of childhood, late adolescents show greater concern for others. They become more self-reliant and take pride in their work. They start finalizing their thoughts about the role they want to play in their lives and become more concerned about their future'.

Sounds a bit more like the West to me. Almost adult, but not quite -- I think the majority of Western countries probably fall under a slightly earlier adolescent age grouping.

You'll see, here I make no remarks about China or other countries except to point out lessons from the developmental stages of childhood found through the work of many, many child psychologists.

Hehehe. Yes, "the half" is very important to a "5,000" year old! Always looking forward to the next birthday!

I think this child is a strange one, more akin to a born again type.

Yes at times 'it' acts like a 5 year old, but we all know it's ancient and has some seriously deep thoughts and perceptions on how to live a fruitful live, (even if on occasion it then ignores those perceptions!

Perhaps it is a reincarnation and Buddha was right!

Damn, there goes my secular humanist nomination for sainthood!

fast forward 2017 (for points). Answer: adolescents. Muscles are being flexed. The CPC still is finding its way around the outside world as it becomes stronger. Just like a 13 year old boy. Egypt, Iran, Syria, Isreal, and even Italy are very old nations. How their attitude develops will determine how well they live.

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
