If you have a temporary resident visa, you don't need a Z visa in order to work.  All you will need is a work permit, which is a separte document that your employer can apply for.

Try the PSB office in Guangzhou, they may, or may not do it.  It depends on the person who will talk to you.  Technically, you should exit China, return to your home country with a written job offer from your employer, and apply and get a "Z" work visa.  Then return to China, get a residence permit and a work permit within 30 days of entering, then start to work.

But since you are married to a Chinese Lady, and have the temporary residence permit already good for one year, maybe they will not force you to do the above.  Again technically, you are not supposed to be able to change the btype of visa inside China, but reality is different.   A well connected friend may solve all your problems, or a helpful employer too.

Changing the visa type for work really isn't needed. I have used that type of visa for years. You just need a separate work permit. Very easy to get.
