Q: Isn't this a very Chinese type of thing to do?

I'm sure I've seen and read about this type of thing going on in China

My comment is made without verifying if the news is true or false.

I work in a Chinese factory. Hundreds of Chinese people making things, assembling things, fixing things, programming things, and sweeping up. And there are hundreds of factories where I live. All the same

And they are all fucking proud of what they do. From the bus driver to the sweeper, from the robot programmer to the cook, they are all contritbuting in their own way.  And the reward is being able to afford a bike, a car, an apartment, or paying for medicine

The west has been sold out to the bankers and investors. Government has sold out the people by relying on house price increases to make people think they are rich. Inward investment and all that. It all drives property prices up, and the bankers love that. More interest.

The jobs featured in the article are the sort of jobs that people apply for when there are no real jobs.  They are pyramid scheme jobs.

This is allowed to happen because the western Governments will not take the bankers on. They will not fight for the people they are paid to represent. They think of their donors and future employers before they serve the people who elected them.

Education is the key.

Educate people, and they will tend to vote to the left.

Keep them dumb, and they will veer towards to the right.

The more right wing a Government, the more people that are left behind that sign up to do pyramid scheme jobs such as those in the article.

obviously scotts by your bashing the right, in this post u are a left liberal by your propaganda so keep on doing a great job! The left means bigger government telling people when where how to live eat breath die no responsibility/punishment for ones own actions more taxes to pay for bigger government no self reliance no patriotism no accountability more slavery no morals less freedoms The last 8 years the left in the US tried this social engineering experiment and it ruined a country setting back what over 200 years of prosperity the US had made and it didn't work will never work and after these 8 years American kids are slower dumber in math reading and spelling through the communist government run school system in the US Need I go on?

My only question is where is this perfect left UTOPIA that you speak of so prophetically. I have travelled the world and I have not found it yet. I seem to remember people crawling in a circle in China for an employee on this website article news and girls doing fake blowjobs to workers, so utopia certainly isn't here. Not every country can run factories because of demand, somebody will always have advantage, someone will always have disadvantage, reality really does suck, but we all have to live with it.

The thing with people declaring themselves left or right, IMO, is that too often you see no leeway in thinking. If you're staunchly on one side and the other party has a great idea it can't be a great idea because it came from 'them' and needs to be shut down.

Why can't a good idea be just that, a good idea that should be encouraged and supported? Why does supporting a new law or whatever need to depend on who is pushing it rather than if it's a good idea?

Alan, I mostly agree with what you said. Not 100% sure about the education thing affecting political ideas though.

I have a mate who is educated (well, the standard degree in something he has no use for now), can hold his own in an intelligent conversation about most things - he isn't an idiot in other words. And he's a staunch Trump supporter, not because he agrees with everything Trump does- he actually seems embarrassed by him - but because the men in his family have always been Republican. Dems can't ever be right because... no why.

I do agree that the dumb or uneducated often veer to the right though.

Ambi. I agree, there is no perfect left utopia. Probably no perfect right either, whatever that might entail. Life is what it is and people just have to roll with it and do the best they can.

Cub. I'm not really up on American politics and honestly had very little interest or opinion until recently when it became a sick reality show. I think both sides are probably as bad as each other. But, I don't see how Obama put the U.S back 200 years.

What I thought was that the U.S has been deteriorating for years for various reasons and Obama inherited a financial mess and the train wreck that came after 911, meaning it was far from perfect when he took over.

You might well have a point with the education system, that seems to be a standard Western problem.

I don't know and don't care. I'm not here to defend Obama.

My point, again, was that I don't see how he put America back 200 years. Maybe you could explain what you mean by that?

America may be going backwards as you say, but it started way before Obama was on the scene, he just carried on the trend.

the debt was a hoax played by both parties on america and we got screwed.

a 2.3 trillion budget gets a 'one time stimulus added of 850 billion to bump the budget in that year to 3.1 or 3.2 trillion.

Then both parties let the congress which democrats controlled the first 2 years, do continuing resolutions quarterly at the spending level of 800 billion a quarter to keep spending at the 3.2 trillion level on an annual basis.

So in affect we got 8 stimulus budgets because the base line budget of 2.3 trillion disappeared.

The republicans went along because now that budget is there for them to play with now.

Both parties got more spending without pissing off voters with a tax increase.

The debt doubled in 8 years with the lowest interest rates in a century and nothing was said by any journalists.

Americans got screwed in the ass without a kiss or vaseline and nobody even paid attention.

A:Weird jobs you say? China has plenty. The guys who work in bath houses and whose job it is to scrub guys down... that's got to suck.I've seen it. There will be a (usually fat) naked dude lying on a table, and the scrubber who is also near naked goes over him top to bottom with what looks like a scouring glove. They get right in there..lift the nuts, spread the cheeks and everything. God knows why anyone would pay for that but it seems they do. Then there are the eunuchs who became high-ranking public servants back in the day.Nowadays I don't think it's very common for them to be high-ranking, I think most just became wumaos - but a lot of them self castrated themselves to get the job.It must have been a hell of a decision to make...if you decide you'd prefer to be a plumber or rickshaw driver after a couple of years on the job there's no reversing the surgery. The people who stand in front of a shoe or clothing store and clap to attract customers- sometimes they will chant in unison - that's another job I always thought was bizarre. The supermarket staff whose job seems to be to stand in groups of three gossiping and blocking the aisles so you can't go down them, you have to turn around and go down the next aisle that probably has a sale on shampoo or expired tofu that day. The 'English Teachers' who can't communicate with the foreign teachers, or even their students in English but will tell anyone who listens how the foreign speaker is 'wrong'.Their jobs seem to be to unteach whatever English the kids are able to pick up.It's strange, but they do exist. If you're really looking for a great career though I suggest being the worthless lazy offspring of someone with good connections. Being stupid will help your prospects a lot. You'll be given a job with a decent salary, pension etc and all you need to do is play with your phone all day and be you. You'll never be asked to do anything or probably even show up at the office. In fact they'd probably prefer it if you just kept out of the way.      -- Stiggs
