11 years 28 weeks ago in Teaching & Learning - China
I believe it takes 4 years to become a doctor in China, 7 years in the west.
Some of the methods/practices used by the older doctors in China I question greatly, but the new doctors will be learning more modern methods.

It takes 5 years, not 4 years to do a Bsc in Medicine here.
In my opinion, where you will practice will bear a lot of weight on where you should do the studies. If you plan to be a doctor, and work as a doctor in China, then do study here. If you plan to work as a doctor abroad, select the country and then check if they do recognize studies and degrees from China.
And also keep in mind that in China, you become a doctor in 4 years, while abroad it will take longer. My youngest brother became an urologist, and it took him 13 years from entering the university to graduation as a surgeon in USA.
I studied medicine in china and graduated here but you see i am now doing a different profession not even a bit related to my major...............So what do you think about that?!!!!

It proves that learning medicine in China can make people adapted to many kinds of work rather than just being a doctor after graduation, you are the very proof!
I am a medical student here in China, I am about to finish my last year very soon, which is basically internship in the hospital . I can say it depends on you! If you really study hard, find materials for yourself, then yes you can study medicine here. They have labs, cadavers to practice on, and there are some good professors who studied in the west. But if you are the kind of person who studies under pressure e.g. exams and so on, then I can assure you it will be extremely hard for you to study well, because the exams are fairly easy, you can skip classes whenever you want without any consequences. Regarding internship, I would recommend you to do it in your own country, why? Because there is language barrier, so you can't communicate effectively with patients here, plus the teaching hospitals here are mainly for business, so the doctors there will not waste their time trying to teach you something. They will be busy doing their business and you will keep running after them all the time which is quite frustrating. BTW I assume you want to study in English medium.
P.S. Excuse me for my poor English, and I hope my explanation is helpful to you.
