If the doctor caused negligence and harmed you in anyway sure you can. It happens all over the world. If there is a problem report it we don't need doctors killing patients but rather saving them. One bad doctor will do more good than harm. It depends on what your suing him/her or them for. But yes you can! Good Luck!

Well, you can tell them you're going to sue them, make some noise. Chances are, they will want to settle it before it gets to the courtroom. They'll probably pay you to keep you quiet, less hassle for them.

While in general I might agree, i could also see the opposite happening, and they call your bluff - knowing that no judge is going to award anything to a laowai over a Chinese doctor!

True, but what else can you do? Making some noise gives a person the chance for compensation. Silence isn't always golden.

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
