Most beautiful place i've seen in all my life. So.........yeh. Make sure you take a passport photo with you, it's 300 entry fee but with a photo you can get a two day pass for 320. Definitely the way to do it. Wish I was going. Also you've got Huanglong nearby which is worth a look-see. A panda enclosure round that way too I heard but I didn't bother.

I strongly recommend it too. I was lucky enough to visit it a couple year ago in autumn and the landscape is breathtaking.

Agree with these blokes, one of the coolest places in China and probably cloesest to Tibet you will get without actually going to Tibet.  Hope your in good shape though, went with my old fat British, pack-a-day roomie, and once the bus dropped us off he had to run for lower land to breathe.

Definitely worth a visit, especially two days to take your time. I went October 2011 (Autumn) and it was really quite beautiful. I rarely use the word beautiful to describe anything in China, although locals insist on telling me that everything in China is beautiful, famous or delicious.

We hiked in one day and took a bus on the second day.

On the first day, we hiked in from the front gate as the bus ticket costs close to 100 on top of the entry price. It takes about 5 hours at a casual pace to reach the centre of the park. It's good to actually take the time and enjoy actually being in some wilderness and the fact that we didn't didn't see another person for almost 3 hours. A bonus being we had rivers and some nice lakes all to ourselves. In the centre of the park, they don't check bus tickets so you can just take a bus back out for free!

Most Chinese tourists tend to stick to the buses and the roadside around the scenic spots so  you can avoid the crowds by simply taking the trails on the other side of the lakes.

I've been thinking about heading out there this summer as well. Looks like pretty much everyone agrees it's worth seeing. What about Mountain Emei? Is that cool?

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
