I saw something in the news where people had to drop their baby from a tenth floor window to people on the ground to catch. And they were able to to catch the baby luckily.

Something I have never liked about apartment blocks is the fire risk and the lack of a way out if the place does go up in flames.

I feel terrible about this, We watched live in Facebook News accounts, it breaks my heart that it happened at 1:00AM when 60% were probably sleeping deeply and had no idea.

I really hope that company who did the refurbishment PAYS with a life sentence in jail for not knowing what the hell they were doing. They said they knew everything and all checked out ok, but clearly there was something they didn't know, something they took a short cut on, something they knew but went ahead anyway.

Good question, What actually caused the fire? How did it spread so fast? It was on fire from the cellar to the dome. I have never seen a high rise building on fire where the fire is pouring out the lowest windows and the highest all at the same time. Usually fire travels up not down. Personally it looks like it was set. But for what purpose?

A:Hmmm - I'm sure I answered this (and some other posts...). What you don't seem to get is that an older population is bad for a country... the expenses in looking after the elderly (welfare, hospitals, etc) start taking up more of the tax cake - a cake that's getting smaller because there are less people contributing to it (ie, workers). From an earth impact perspective - good! But from most other perspectives - bad. -- Shining_brow
