you are very specific about the friends you want

so if we are over 39, not tall and not 'nice', we need not apply

i suppose i can be thankful you haven't specified male or female friends

i don't set any limits on who can be my friend, although a**-h**** need not apply

sorrel:

yes, i know.

it sounded harsh

Looks like you are looking for a boyfriend? I mean, I really don't care if my friends were 20, 50 or 100, black, white, blue, fat, thin, tall, short, gay or straight. So long as we have a good time when we are out, it's ok. I didn't know there were yardsticks in friend selection.

sorrel:

this is china - friends have to fit certain criteria

you have read the posts of a certain other poster who is looking for her foreign Mr. Right in Shanghai ???

Don't I know it! The face thing again! Honestly, sometimes this face thing drives me up the wall. People here should loosen up and try to live, know what I mean? Anyway...to each his/her own. On another note, why are you always so proper? I meant that as a compliment.

smileyMe? Flirt? No no no....me chinaman....me no flirt. What I meant was that I've read many posts including yours and it appears that even when you are angry you are still proper in your replies. No worries, I think you are one cool lady! (No flirtatious thoughts intended).

sorrel:

laugh

i am actually evil.

having worked here in china for a few years, i have learnt that keeping things civil (especially any dealings with a former boss), p****s some people off.

Seriously, it takes a lot for me to get angry

Ok, evil sorrel...guess you are into reverse psychology then? Yup, that works most of the time when dealing with unreasonable people. I suppose some people need to be handled that way. It takes all kinds.

As for the 39 age limit, is it per Solar or Lunar calendar ? Also, you count age from conception date or birth date ? In some places, they have different convention, so you might end-up with someone beyond the dreaded 39 years.

Wear a mini skirt and spiked heels, you'll meet more friends that way.

Go to Ellen's, which is near one of the Coco clubs, I think Banana (might be Jeff though). They have cheap drinks, good atmosphere and it's easy to make friends.

I visited Hangzhou once and would love to go back there if possible.

If you'd come to Shanghai or Hong Kong, let me know.

I'm younger and shorter though

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
