Q: Marriage Visa Question

Can a marriage visa be turned into a residence permit? Forgive me if my terms are a little off, but China work/z visas had to be changed into a residence permit (I think) after 30 days (my terms might be a bit wrong but you know what I mean) but if I get a marriage visa can I change this into a residence permit?

Worthy to note that some cities will convert any visa you got into a 1 year marriage at the PSB if you are living in the city of where your wife is from.

You could use a search engine...

Q1 visa is for stays >180 days. That gets converted into a resident permit of 1 or 2 years.

Q2 visa is for <180 days. This can't be converted into a resident permit.

After you enter China using the Q1 visa you then need to take the medical. After that you go to the entry exit bureau, fill in the resident permit application form and apply there. Read the link for required documents.

Americans will pay more because America will charge more than the UK for vidas for Chinese. Countries normally reciprocate charges for visa.
