Q: Medical Exam for Residence Permit Renewal?

I live in shanghai, i am working as an engineer from past 1 year.

Last year i got my Z VISA and later obtained the residence permit, before which i went through the process of medical exam

This is my first year of renewing the residence permit visa.

Please advice me if MEDICAL EXAM is required again to get the new residence permit for 1 year?

My residence permit will expire on June 30th

Yes, it is and your employer should organise and pay for it.

And that, my good man, is why I'm going to bastard Urumqi on Sunday.

If you want it for more than six months, you must be prodded and stabbed.

I've never had to get a new medical exam in the last 6 years whatever I renew my working permit。But that's Shenzhen.

I recently went for my medical check.....I wish that they wouldn't get the most inexperienced nurse they can find to take blood. It took her 6 attempts to find a vein. I had more blood dripping off my arm than went into the vials.

I've renewed my RP twice in Zhejiang....haven't had to redo the medical exam.  This "requirement" seems to be really dependent on location and the PSB officer processing the application.

From the answers provided above it seems to be yet another case of wank wank, money in the bank.

For Xinjiang, the answer to questions about 'why' is invariably "Xinjiang is special place".

Perhaps it's different in your neck of the woods.  Just leave the matter in the hands of your employer and let them get to the bottom of it.

Depends on the city. I haven’t had to redo the check in Guangzhou but a friend had to redo it in Beijing. So pretty much it is arbitrary like most rules in China.

As I know, you can avoid doing MExam, if your latest exam isn't older than 6 months.

I'm in Fujian, and for new Z/RP, I gave them (to HK Embassy) and to School at my return to China, MExam from Taizhou, Jiangsu, with date May 15th, 2014.

I know this is an old question, but just to add another experience for the record.

I am redoing my employment RP in GZ. Not changing jobs, no medical required it seems. The HR woman gave me my passport reciept today from the PSB, and a new 2 year WP chop in my brown book. I have not even had to go to the PSB in person.

Lol, I have been pestering the HR woman for weeks to sort my stuff out as my RP expires at the end of this month. She just kept saying no problem, no problem.
