Sign up with Google Sign up with FacebookQ: My Z visa was cancell, and then I left China, would a new employer have trouble getting anew one?
I worked in China for many years, then finally, getting a bad deal from a school I had been at only one year, after the Z visa was issued, I went back to the USA, and just never returned to the school. Of course, after a month, they sent me a letter I was fired.
I have been contacted by a new school, and am wondering what problems I will have getting a new Z visa.
Any help apprecited.

You should be ok
just apply for it and see how you go
if you have a problem you could email the embassy and ask them what to do
good luck
I doubt there is a problem. Did they say they canceled your z visa in the letter? Because I doubt they did if you were already out of the country.
Because you had a visa, there is the issue of not having a release letter from the previous employer, but I think there is a time limit on needing that. Have the new school call the visa office and ask about how long to reapply for a new working visa without a release letter (and that office should be able to check your visa status and tell you exactly what has been done to it)
I was in a similar situation a couple years ago, Good Luck!
Jadedragon, being real technical about it, your work (Z) visa expired 30 days after you entered China, and you were here working legally under a work permit, and living under a residence permit. Those had as time limits either the expiration date of your contract, or one year from issue date. Since you left, worse thing your former employee could have done is to notify PSB, with a negative remark like you were not a good teacher, or abandoned the position, not reliable, as an example.
If your prospective employer is really interested in you, those remarks would made no impact on their decision to hire you, and also you will have a chance to your side of the coin at interview time. It will make very little impact when you apply for a new visa with a new invitation letter.
Good luck to you.
You can start to apply for the Z visa. although it's lil bit hard and takes longer, you can get it. so please do not worry to much.
