Mine is to get back into training and lead a healthier life
Echina should make theirs to fix all the glitches on their web page
and to straighten out their jobs section
Teaching other than English does no mean post all English teaching jobs there
which begs the question does the person who formated the section have a suitable English back ground to understand the meaning in the first place
there are other teaching forums like IT and Business and Hospitality and Medical
and about a thousand others like Media studies
what is your Resolution ? or New Years Bitch?
Work on bringing forward my exit plan, not spend another Christmas / new year in China.
Get certified teacher status in USAville. Learn some new stuff on the guitar, lift heavy, and a few other things.
On Echina, just search with the subject you want to teach, though 'IT' is not a useful search term (as you probably know). Perhaps try 'ICT'? I really don't know. Also, instead of 'business' you might want to try searching economics or accounting. There are 'business' positions, but not many IMHO, and they are usually unis.
New Years Rant: This Acer I bought with Chinese "Windows". No English, only Chinese. Not sure of the best way to get a real copy of Win 7, or just put win 8 on it? Now I cannot add Adobe on that little Acer. Just a never ending story of fuck ups resulting from a fake Windows setup on this local-bought Acer. I don't trust anyone here to sell real -anything- related to software. I have tried 4 versions of Middle Kingdom Windows ripoffs. Do not say 'Ubuntu'; just don't. Long story.
WanderingTeacher:
Just buy from America and save yourself the headache. Learned that the hard way Certain things I'll buy in China, but other things, like laptops, drugs (cold medicine, ibuprofen, etc), deoderant and cologne, I only trust America and Europe. I send my friends the money, and they will buy and ship it to me.
A few things I want to do this year:
- Remodel my house (I can't stand these Chinese tile floors, I need carpet, preferably American style. Paint the walls, new furniture, Maybe buy a TV (but I never watch the one I have now any ways), and upgrade my bathroom..I really want a tub and a "waterfall" shower head)
- Go to Europe for a month, the States for 2 weeks and maybe Japan if I have time.
- Open an English Kindergarten in my city where no one is allowed to speak Chinese and all classes are taught in English.
- Try not to freak out that I'm turning 25 this year (in 13 days to be more precise)
- Establish an English Corner in my city
- Read more books as I have been slacking lately. I used to read 2-3 books a week. Now I'm down to 2 a month if I'm persistent.
- Stay on top of my yoga, been slacking in that area too.
- Actually use the MMA punching bag and home gym equipment I bought 3 months ago and only stare at occasionally.
- Oh, and eat more fruits and veggies. I mainly eat tofu, and very little meat, but I continually get a cold at least once a month so apparently my immune system has gone to shit since I arrived in China.
- Try to make it through another year where I don't punch one of these Chinese dudes in the throat for being an a$$hole/dumba$$/cocky son of a b!tch...but I don't think I'll make it...I have a feeling it's gonna happen sometime soon.
- Finish up my Master's degree.

You must be rich, opening a kindergarten/school will cost you no less than 1.5 million RMB in most of China.
WanderingTeacher:
Well, I have a business partner, so things are not as expensive for me to do in business since we go half on all expenses. Also, it's not going to be an "official" kindergarten in that sense, going that route is too much work, too much stress, and I don't have time for all that bullsh!t. I have two schools now and only teach in the evenings. During the day we are not at either school..ever. So I've decided that this year we will utilize one of the schools during the day, two days a week, and will teach Math, English, Art, Dance, etc..all in English. The little kids can come from 8:30-11:30 and then the parents or grandparents can take them home for lunch, and then return and continue classes from 1:30-4:30. This is more efficient and better for us than the traditional Kindergarten route, because we don't have to feed them, spend all that money on decorations, hiring security guards, dealing with government red tape or get any additional licenses to do this because essentially they are coming to our school to learn English, which we already have all the licenses to do. So it's easy, and doesn't require much monetary investment outside of buying additional learning material and tools/toys.

Ambitious there. Will be quite the achievement to do all that travel and work at the same time. Good luck to you.
WanderingTeacher:
Thanks! I'll be doing all my traveling during my holidays/breaks. Winter I take a month and half off, and summer I also take a month an a half off..so each year i have 3 months of vacation/travel time
I made six simple (or simple sounding) resolutions for 2015...
1) Leave Henan for Guangzhou or other developed southern city, unless a better job or lady can keep me here.
2) Take the HSK, at least level 2.
3) Visit at least one of these - Japan, Korea, Xinjiang.
4) Write something, whether it's a blog or a short novel or...
5) Get a new girlfriend. I managed to shake off the last bunny boiler so i need to be more choosy next time
6) Learn a useful/fun skill or hobby - guitar, cooking...
Plan my exit. So in one year I will either be enrolled in or accepted to a master's degree program or JD program back in the states.
my one is easy and yet hard: stay alive
you know i drive a ebike to work
not resolution but i wanna buy a car in march, other than that just learn more in my job
