I love to see people eat tacos and burritos. I really love it. But there is so few latino restaurant in Beijing. How come there's no love for South America?
Because chinese people hardly know if about south america .. all they know is AMERICA
Chinese are not known for trying different things. and tacos and burritos are Mexican. and Mexico is actually north america, Canada, USA, Mexico. North America. just saying
South America has its variant for tacos and burritos. I said tacos and burritos for the sake of making it easier. And Mexico is arguably in Central America. But you may be too young to remember that (Pluto was a planet, btw). Yes, dear old larvanale is old :(
Mexico is in North America for the NAFTA, geographically central america and arguably south america if you look at the crime rate.
wrong. geographically central america is that small thin bit that connects south and north america. thats a fact, no arguably about it. google north america and see what comes up. i think you mean culturaly. then yes, its latin america.
That's why i said you may be too young to remember. Until the end '80s, Mexico was the central part of central America.
To give you a more modern example, is Pluto a planet?
I thought this question is about food~
Whatever, I love Mexican food!!!!!!!!!! There is a restaurant near my place, Cantina Agave, if anyone saw my question posted early this week will know that.
And I love Mexico, people speak spanish there, want to learn spanish.
ok old man, ill take your word for it.
but all this talk about Mexico has left me with an incredible craving for some carne asada tacos.
and Qingdao has meiyou carne asada tacos
damn you larvanale!! why did you make me think about Mexican food. now ill be craving it for god knows how long
I've seen a question somewhere on this site giving mexican restaurant addreses in Beijing. Have to go test them!
I'm old too and I clearly remember the teacher menacing hand whenever i tried to contradict him. It was in schoolbooks too. It's true that Eastern Europe didn't have the most reliable history books but for me, Mexico can never be anywhere else than in Central America, at least geographically.
Ignoring all geographical ambiguities, there are actually loads of mexican/south american cuisine restaurants in China. In Shanghai there's a ton, most famous are run by Jabba the Hutt lookalike Eduardo Vargas, including Chicha (Peruvian cuisine) and Azul.
Beijing has its fair share too, including Migas, and the one that gives away free sombreros in Sanlitun. Just follow the sombreros, you'll find it.
I too love Mehican food, but it makes me so sleepy... time for a siesta!
