Q: Point deductions: Is the Echinacities ship sinking or is it just panic?

Heard a lot of people lost points recently, and some of my posts disappeared which is safe to assume I lost points too.  What's the cause?  Shortage of flashlights?  Either Echinacities is sinking , panicking, or it isn't.  It's definitely one of those three!

im with Scots alan , it has to do with Ted hoarding torches and supplies are now running low

jetfire9000:

Hoarding flashlights so they can then be sold back to eChinacities for even more points than their original cost.  That's a perfect business plan if I ever saw one here!

If this was science fiction, this site would be an abandoned piece of shit in the middle of nowhere, with only life support and a basic defense system, but at least away from the grasp of the evil authoritarian Federation or whatever.

Reminds me it's been a while since my last Firefly marathon.

Hey, I've got a whole bunch of Firefly on one of my sticks.  Never watched it and don't have a clue what it's about.  Do you recommend it?

RiriRiri:

It's in my top 3 of all time favorites in both SF and TV series categories.

I guess if any group should have the show in its reference book, it's probably the expats in China. The story is set in a futuristic universe where essentially the US and China fucked up earth, and humans live in a mix of both cultures. And man, for a 2002 did they got a lot of things right.

You forgot about the Reavers.... there's a lot of those type (or proto-type) in this country... uncaring psychopathic rapists and murderers who scare the shit out of everyone around them by flying around in stolen technology, and raiding nearby ships, colonies, etc.. 3 letters come to mind...

I don't think it is fair to blame this on Ted's hoarding. First of all, in China hoarding is not considered an actual problem, more a way of life, e.g. I think some dude next door is hoarding old bricks in his living room. Secondly, hoarding flashlights, is a great way of trying to get out of the dark ages, which in the long run will be a bonus for all of us. Not sure how close he is to be able to enlighten all of China.

Good job I don't bother about points. The only time I ordered something was about eighteen months ago, I am still waiting for it. I know post is slow but this is crazy. I asked admin then to check into it but the response was no response. So now I don't care at all about points. I definitely think the ship is sinking though, it is certainly not the site it used to be. It used to be far more lively over the last year it has become very stale and boring. Just look at the number of new questions posted, it has gone down significantly. What other sites does anyone use that are like this used to be?

jetfire9000:

not too lively indeed....   maybe the old crowd has just been here too long?   I just don't find China to be as interesting as I thought it would be.

I doubt the gifts even exist. It's probably a hoax to trick you into giving your address.

icnif77:

What they're going to do with your address? I change my address several times a year in China.
