Q: Police have my passport? What will happen?

My school got raided and the boss told us the next day police wanted our passports? He said they will just give us a fine next week. I am on a z visa but working for a different school while waiting for it to be changed. I know that is illegal.

so you are working legally for one school and illegally for another.

The illegal school got raided.

Were you present when the illegal school got raided?

Did you hand over your passport to the police or the school? (it is not clear from your question what you did as you contradict yourself)

nbundy:

I think it makes sense. It says he worked illegal at the second school. He gave his passport to second school to give to the police

unless you actually handed your passport over to the police there is no guarantee they have it.

I know you were probably put on the spot at the time , but the first thing to do is establish exactly who has your passport. EDIT: Illegal school raided - NEXT DAY poster said school asked him for his passport

Did you hand over your passport? You could just walk away...IF you have it, because you said the school asked for it, but you didn't state if you gave it to them...It's the Macau gamble game in China, trying to do it right but become one of the unlucky ones that have been chosen by the devil himself. You're anonymous, so unless you reply or add more details to your question with updates we can't help, only guess. You'll be blacklisted.

I find that most of these anonymous posters do not respond after advice/answers were given. Most of us here are more than willing to help anyone in distress but I feel that it's quite pointless because we don't even know if the OP is real. So I don't really answer to anonymous posters anymore. It's just a waste of time.

icnif77:

Agree to that notion! Sometimes, I'm thinking poster doesn't know how to register, and I answer Q, but will probably stay away, if anon.

Man, why would you give your passport to the school?  I would tell 'em to go f*ck themselves.  If the police want it, then they can ask me for it.  Hell, I am against giving my passport to the police.  I'll let them look at it, but I'm not leaving without it.  Otherwise, I'm calling my government.  F*ck that! You know how wrong that is?
