Q: Prescription needed for clogged sphincter?

a few weeks ago I went to the pharmacy because my husband had a clogged sphincter. I explained as much as I could the problem to the guy there, but all he would give me was some black paste that I'm supposed to boil and give the drink to my husband.

I told him I wanted real medication but he kept insisting on trying that black paste. I repeated myself and insisted on the world "real". Then the pharmacist became kind of rude, and said it is not available without a prescription.

Is there any OTC medication here for a clogged sphincter?

Telling a pharmacist that Traditional Chinese Medicine isn't real will cause you problems here.  Most of the locals take that kind of thing very seriously.  Instead, you might want to ask if there is a "western equivalent" that you can use.

Unfortunately, I don't know of any medicines for your husbands problem.  Most expats here have the exact opposite issue.

Just have him eat a couple dishes at the nastiest hole-in-the-wall restaurant you can find.  Or a few skewers from a street vendor....that should clear him out with blazing quickness

I dunno but my wife told me, when she was a kid and got clogged up, her mum unclogged her with a chopstick. Honest injun. What's scary is her mum's the tightest woman i've ever met, doesn't throw anything away, absolutely everything gets re-used. Everything. So that chopstick.........well........in all likelihood.........yeesh.
