My delightful and caring family constantly remind me, that I should purchase quality smokes. I think they believe that a 45RMB pack of smokes is better for you than a 10RMB pack. And that if I am going to kill myself smoking, least I could do is spend more money on doing so. Your thoughts on the best nails for the coffin, kindly appreciated.

This has been asked a few times before.
I smoke SeptWolves - the red and gold pack that costs 13-15 RMB (as there are several varieties ranging from 5 - 60 RMB/pack). These "taste" like Canadian cigarettes are are hard to counterfeit thanks to the faux-gold embossed logo.
It makes sense that the more popular and expensive smokes will also be the ones most commonly counterfeited.
I used to smoke Dunhill until I ended up with a couple of cartons of fakes so I switched to Rothmans. Found the above Qi Pi Long by accident and stuck with them ever since.
I rip the top off of the package when finished...that way, the cardboard can be recycled but not refilled.
Did you know China invented e-cigarettes? In the long run, e-cigs are cheaper and healthier.
I smoke the cheapest ciggarettes in china in sure Honghe like 5 rmb. And lots of fakes. Gross. So i have to source them out.
I hate the aftertaste of snokes here so these do it for me perfectly. People are so confused when i defend smoking ghetto cigarettes, but im not a social smoker so screw it. Smoked em for 7 years and never bought another brand once.
As to your question. I once had a round about connection to the CEO of honghe from kunming. Anyways, he was coming and heard i was their biggest fan. And he brought me many kinds including A carton of 500 a pack smokes. Not good. I gave them away so my friends could look rich smoking them. Anyways he said cheap smokes are fine. Not any less dangerous at all. The tobacco is pretty much the same , just add harmless stuff for taste. If you want to know if your smokes are healthier read the tar and stuff on the box. Not the price. He said directly, expensive smokes are a scam. Just marketing and a different box and maybe flavours. Chinese generally know it , but because smokes are so important for gifts, weddings ,face ect that the market wants them. But for a regular smoker, my 5 or 6 kuai are just fine.
You can find the tar percentage written on the pack and choose accordingly. I tried Marlboro but it sucks here and fortunately went on to quit smoking...
I don't know, for a non-smoker "quality cigarettes" are an oxymoron.
I've smoked 5 Yuan to 280 Yuan cigarettes and found the cheaper one's are just to better then the more expensive one's. I don't smoke anymore but wen I did I smoked KENT, USA owned company but made Singapore, 15 Yuan a pack.
