Q: Recommendations for health insurance?

Does anyone have experience purchasing health insurance in China? I'm talking self-purchased insurance plans that are not funded by your employer. I know there are different companies offering different packages but I would like to hear first hand about anybody's experiences buying insurance in China. What was the cost? What did it cover? Was it worth it?

I'm not really looking for a comprehensive policy. I'd be happy to pay out of pocket for minor and relatively minor care up to say 10k rmb or so. But it would be nice to have some help if the unthinkable happens and I owe 100k +. So my ideal plan would be something with a relatively low premium and high deductible that would cover catastrophic illnesses and accidents.

Foreign insurers are the way to go. Try AXA insurance, they are fairly pricy but you will certainly get a pay out. I heard getting Chinese med insurance is quite complicated.
