Given the high pressure to do well in high school to get into uni, do teens turn to drugs like this that get the attention strongly focussed??

Is Ritalin even prescribed or allowed here? I know I had a American colleague diagnosed with adult A.D.D. who was worried about bring his prescription with him through Chinese customs....
Ritalin is a drug used to treat ADD, but if given to someone without ADD, it can really help them focus on a singular task. There are a lot of professors and researchers in the US that use it to increase their efficiency.
In China it isn't used much, but they do use a lot of traditional 'alternatives' such as certain types of food like fish. They will also drink certain types of tea which is supposed to help.
