Q: Rude, noisy, horrible people

Why do people have to be so loud. Last night at about 2am guys come in the rubbish truck to empty the massive trash cans. They then start shouting at the top of their lungs to each other, and they weren't fighting, just having a conversation totally oblivious that they were probably waking up the whole damn area!

Seriously, do some people have no brains? Surely at that time you realize everyone is asleep so just be a bit quiet...

People like this exist all over our planet....culture plays but a small part.

60-70 percent of the world's population are utter morons...nothing will change this regardless of where you reside.

Oh man, that question/observation/ complaint has come up online and in conversation so many times now, and every time you'll get the same answer..

Yep, people are loud and obnoxious with no regard for anyone else.
It's partly that they are just oblivious, partly that they just don't care. Stupidity might be a factor sometimes but mostly it's the first two.

It sucks but, TIC. There's no point asking why because the answer is always 'no why', this is just how they are.

I like silicon ear plugs when I sleep and noise blocking headphones when I'm out somewhere and don't want to deal with the noise.

Like Stiggs I have both good quality headphones for the living-room area and good quality earplugs for the bedroom and I carry a set with me in case I want to use them in public somewhere.

As to why?  Hmmmmm,,, that question has been pondered since The Beginning of Time ~

The best explanation I ever heard was that you are living in a society that developed from (and is still dominated by) the agrarian lifestyle. and that on farms and such, I'm not real familiar w/ agrarian concepts/terminology, the inhabitants needed to raise their voices to be heard over long distances.  That is one group/person would be working one portion of the field and to communicate with another person/group working a different part of the field they would yell; that's just the mechanism that presented itself and so fell into popular use and eventually became dominant amongst the behavioral patterns.

something like that anyway....

I have tried to analyze this on various platforms.

1) They are simple people and have no compassion, nor thought beyond their own action within its space and counter-action (reason why I put this as #1).

2) They are self-loathsome and angry at the fate they have been given. They want others to suffer and quite aware of their actions.

3) Simply put, are loud because they want their presence to be known for the safety and awareness of others. (Nope. I sincerely doubt this one too.)

That's all I could come up with. By all means, choose your own reasoning... but I am going to stick with #1 from my own experience.

This is number one on my list.

These are developing people. They need more time to mature.

Despite living on campus I get the keep-fit Ayi's going past my block at 5.30am with their loud music and arm swinging flagellation.

Currently thinking of techniques to 'politely' dissuade such behaviour.  A BB gun strategically  situated at the kitchen window is at the top of the list.

I think such behaviour is a combination of a so-what attitude and the inability to think about personal actions and its consequences.

After 4 years here I have come to the conclusion that there is an insufficient level of fear - implied or explicit between the law making authorities and the population at large.

In my home country noise pollution is taken very seriously, early afternoons and weekends are usually quiet times and, more importantly, nearly always enforced by other neighbors and the local equivalent of the Chengguan.  Evictions and fines are routine in such cases where people have chosen to ignore it.

But TIC and this remains a pipe dream...

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
