Because they can find little mommy's girls who are willing to work for whatever they're offered rather than what they're worth.

There's not easy answer, for me in this time, i would rather accept better salary, lets say if is double than actual one, and stay there for some time, save some money and maybe search some new job slowly. It is really not easy to ask chinese boss for increase salary.  If you do not like the new job in many aspects, maybe you have not to take it and try get another one.

My job now, is what i like in his nature, but do not like this job in his true way of going. Salary is not nice too, but can make some extra money beside, so thats what keep me here still. I sit here the whole day , browsing internet and almost nothing to do. where i get some business, just finish it asap and that's it. So if get some better offer, also have to consider all the plus and minus of old and new job.

Chinese boss has a salary budget for his employees, some goes to the employee, some goes to his new Audi

Foreign boss has a salary budget for his employees, all goes to the employee

A) they're tight-fisted. Surely, everyone here knows that money is #1...and the first rule of business is to screw over someone else. Rule #2 is profit!

B) foreign bosses pay higher salaries because they actually expect their employees to, you know... work! They also pay for experience, and actual competence.

I assume this is not only in Shanghai. It must be all around China. Would this change? I hope so!

Shining_brow is right about the Chinese bosses! They are soooo inhumane! Money money money is all what they care about. Most of them even don't bother buying you health insurance.

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
