Q: Should I stay to take the business or switch to another job now?

The boss is an untrustworthy rat, and he kept lying about paying me salary on time and buying me insurance.

He never paid me on time and every time I have to ask about my salary for many many times till I can get them, and I just checked my insurances status but it saies the boss didn't  even buy me insurance which he said he did.

I can completely sure that he's not someone I can trust and continue working for after all the shits he pulled up on me. I have worked here for almost 6 monthes, I know one year working as a sales manager(management role) will be looking good on my CV. I want to be able to land a good job if my own business failed, it is my backup plan. That’s the main reason I still working for this rat.

The boss only invested 29800rmb on alibaba to list products to get customers, and I am the one in charge of the Alibaba store operation only, and I get many orders for him with this small investment by listing many products online and doing keywords SEO all by myself. I know many factories make the products my company is selling. I have confidence to enter this industry to make the business work.

Consider ing my tight financial situation to not have enough money to go completely self-employed by living in Shanghai. If I go home to run my business by saving the renting fee in Shanghai, my parents will drive me crazy for being unmarried.

SO I am making choices among the following:

  1. 1.Continue working for this shitty boss, and tried to take some customer while still working here. But then I’ll still get my salary delayed and no social insurances offered.

  1. 2.Go switch to a new job.

  1. 3.Just stop working here and go completely self-employed by loaning some money from the bank to run my business and continue living in Shanghai.

Any advice for my crazy situation. Life is hard.

how many times have you asked this (or a similar) question on this board over the last few years?

did you act on any of the suggestions that were given to you?

you have been advised to look for another job since you started this one - you began bitching about this job since the first day you worked there.

did you ask your American friend you spoke of in a recent post?

What did he say?

how about the two guys you could not chose between in a recent (blocked) post?

Did you ask them what they thought?

are you going to take some responsibility for your life (you claim to be 30 years old)?

write down the pro's and con's for each option you have and make a decision, and take responsibility for your decision.

don't try and put this kind of decision on to other's who don't know you at all - it is your life - your responsibility.

Viki87:

I am just asking for opinions from others and still make my own decision.

Stop blaming on me.

No one saies that I have to take all the advices from everyone.

" write down the pro's and con's for each option you have and make a decision, and take responsibility for your decision." ----That is exacly what I am doing. Why are you blaming on me for collecting those opinions? You are crazy. "don't try and put this kind of decision on to other's who don't know you at all - it is your life - your responsibility." How do you know I put decision on to others? I am simply just collecting diffrent opinions.

i believe i suggested you make a 'pro and con' list months ago.

if you failed to do this then, who is responsible?

The cat?

recently a former (marketing) student asked for help writing an online professional profile.

I told him to come back when he had begun it, and even suggested he look at what others had written. He has visibly upset that i  would not do this for him. I then reminded him that he was an adult and at least show he had put some thought and work into it and not expect me to do it for him.

You claim to be a Sales Manager.
Any Sales person i know, they know how to sell themselves because being able to sell is an intrinsic part of their job.

You were advised over and over and over again to look for another job, since you stated from day 1 you did not like your job.
tell me, who is responsible for you still being in this job?

What would Alibaba need to see? Couldn't you just set up your apartment as an office, maybe put a sign on the door and in the window and use that?

Alibaba does now allow apartment as office. Must be a real office to pass the background check.

One of  my subordinates got his salary delayed for 1.5 monthes, the boss kept lying about paying him but never did till he asked. This guy got paid for only 6000rmb for 1.5 monthes while he should be able to collect about 7000rmb for 1.5 monthes. After he collected the 6000rmb salary, he just left a resignation letter to me for handling it to  the boss and left the company without telling him in his face. Cool act.

But in his letter, he did not tell the real reason for leaving this shitty company, just being polite saying that he felt  he does not suit this job.

Englteachted:

No, cowardly as is typical with Chinese. If you're quitting due to failure to pay salary, you should be loud and in the face of the boss in front of everyone especially clients.

Viki87:

I find it weird too, Chinese usually tend to show weakness so easy.

The boss called this guy to ask the reason he quit, the sales guy made up an excuse saying that he didn't make sales during the time and he doesn't like this industry. The boss stupidly believed it and called me to tell me the reason this guy quit. Then I told right in front of my boss's face that this guy quit because he kept not paying salary. lol I told him that I like to tell the truth and I do not care that he wants to keep me or not.

Funny, You mention weakness but at least the guy has the balls to leave. Maybe he did'nt  give the real reason for leaving incase he needs a reference. All you do is bitch and complain but still remain, now that's weird!..... So ether put up or shut up!

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
