Q: Silliest thing you have seen printed on a car...

I just picked my boys up from their school today and there was a car parked outside that had some English graphics printed on it.  As is my habit in China, I automatically read (or try to read) anything written in English.

On the hood it said, "911 Emergency Response Team".  And on the fenders it said, "To Entrap and Enslave".  I almost fell over laughing.  Unfortunately I didn't have my camera with me.  If it is there tomorrow, I will take a picture and post it for you all.

What is the strangest thing you have seen printed on a car, other than the obligatory Hello Kitty stuff?

I saw a mobile police unit in Yulin with absolutely the most adorable, cutest cartoon policeman on the side of it. I guess they were going for innocent and welcoming; I just thought it lacked a certain credibility, like the moment a victim of a mugging staggers in bleeding they're going to round up Bugs and Daffy and get after the villains on Wil E Coyote's rocket skates.

In Shenyang there was always a jeep parked close to my university gate with a sticker of Osama Bin Laden.

It looked like the stickers of Dakar rally. http://www.evographics.com/product_images/k/394/DAKAR__98296_std.jpg

But it was clearly the terrorist. Maybe a fan?

The "Entrap and Enslave" thing is because of the Chinese obsession with the new Transformers movies - it's printed on the Decepticon police car.

The strangest thing I've seen has been the map of Silverstone, highlighted with the corners for Monza and with a great big Porky Pig in the middle saying "Wellkon(sic) to Daytona."

Xpat.John:

It is?  Huh, I never saw the movie so I guess that is why I didn't recognize it.  Still, I thought it was pretty funny.

A lady at work here has all of the Angry Birds characters vinyled on to the side of her car, both sides actually.  I asked if it was something her kid(or kids?) asked her to do....no, apparently this 30-something just really loves Angry Birds.

Another common thing I see is a sticker of the Nurburgring track map or Dakar rally stickers.  Usually find these on Chinese made cars and "SUVS", neither of which have been on or even close to either respective course...

The word "Smoke" written upside down in a stylish lettering.  On the same car, bullet-holes.  The bullet-holes make it go faster.

There is one in my building that has SWAT written and some other decals to make it all police-looking... on the drive door is a badge that just has a big ol capital B in the center, and "Best Cars" written under it... in the states he would be punishable for imitating a douche bag

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
