Q: So we had a typhoon here in Shenzhen
So yesterday we get sent home from kindergarten early because a typhoon was coming.The weather was ok when we went home,along with the other parents i took my son back home.
The Typhoon did not hit until very late in the evening,I woke up this morning checked the tv warnings on the tv saying stay indoors
there was flooding in the metro stations flooding on the roads here in Shenzhen
this is what I dont understand we got sent home when the weather was ok but then today when the weather was 100 times worse you get told you need to go to kindergarten.
I looked at the tv this morning,decided not to take my son to kindergarten as the weather really was shit but then get told children and teachers need to be at work today.
really what gets me is we went home in good weather but told to be at work in very bad weather.

a lot of children from my sons class did not go to kindergarten today because it really wasnt safe
No one thinks, the govt (sb) makes a decision days before based on outdated info and then they just don't adjust.
Yesterday - I can understand... go home now while the weather isn't too bad, so you don't have to cop the bad stuff.
Today is stupid... but you get that!
Can't believe anyone had to go to work today. At least start school at 2:00PM
I am just up the road, and a friend sent me a video of the flooded metro.
Sort of begs a few questions.
The water is streaming into an underground electrified space.... people still wading down the steps.
How stupid do you have to be to go underground into a tunnel that is filling with water?
How stupid do you have to be to to drive an electric train through a water filled tunnel?
How stupid do you have to be to build a metro without a pumped sump?
The Metro flooded 4 years ago. How stupid do you have to be to let it happen again?
And at what point does a sensible person close the metro, so as to protect the idiots from themselves?
the kindergarten wont pay me for yesterday they said the teachers came to work.
I had to think of my son weather I should take him outside or not.
its the goverment that decides weather you should have class or work,so the goverment on monday says go home early but the typhoon does not come until very late at night.
then tells you to go to work when its very bad ouitside.
