Q: Sometime back someone asked for men's deodorant.....

A few weeks ago, a question was asked about the difficulty of locating a good deodorant for men.  Well, I ran into one the other day while at Guangzhou, and will like to share the information with those who may still be interested.

The name of it is Mitchum Power Gel, and comes on a 2.25 oz container, with two varieties, one scented and one natural.  I bought the scented, and it does have a nice aroma, and at least for me, it works as good as the ones I used back in the States.  Cost was 25 yuan, and I found it at the foreign market on the basement of Citic Plaza (the street name is Backstreet) near the East Train Station.  Go down the ramp, into the basement, and the store will be after the cafeteria on your left.

Thanks, but I like "Old Spice."

When I use it, I envision myself a sailor, just returning home from a long sea voyage, and getting my "land legs" back as I stride up the hill, my windbreaker thrown nonchalantly over one shoulder, the other hand holding my trusty pipe, from which I can smell the fragrant aroma of Old Toby tobacco that I've just lit.

When I top the hill, the house is before me, a rectangle of warm light pouring forth from the open door where she stands, waiting, her long, raven locks cascading over her shoulders and spilling onto her hand-knitted shawl. She smiles as she reaches to take my hand, leading me wordlessly inside the house and gently closing the door behind us. I hear the latch catch, and then...

I wake up in China. Oops! Gotta go get more Old Spice. C'ya.

Happy..that was me and since then I have done some hunting up here in Daqing and to my surprise I found a pretty good antiperspirant spray. Was at Walmart last week and bought a brand named..Rexona "Ice Cool". Also 25rmb for the 150ml can.

It's an Australian brand as far as I can tell by reading the can.

MissA:

Yep, we certainly have Rexona in Australia.

I honestly stopped looking.  Just make sure to stock up when I'm state-side.

Yeh derek, the brand is just called Rexona.

The men is to state that it's for men, like Nivea men, and other similar products often state, because a lot of men are afraid to use products that aren't manly enough.

Anyway, Rexona is another unilever brand, just like lynx, or axe, if that's what you want to call it, which is also available at most supermarkets.

I personally use Rexona, or Adidas because I find the lynx wears off too fast in the Shenzhen heat and costs nearly twice the amount. Both Rexona and Adidas sell for 25rmb at Walmart, Jiahua, Wanjia and Carrefourre, though sometimes the spray on isn't on promotion and goes for 35. Lynx goes for 40rmb and up.

I use Nivea Silver Protect roll-on deodorant, and it works nice. Problem is that I have not seen it here, so You information can be very usual for me if I for any reason I'll not refresh my "reserve" when visiting homeland.

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
