Q: Student internship in a city that's NOT where my university is located?

Hi guys,

I'm going into the second year of my master's program in Beijing starting in September. Thing is, I have no class requirements to fulfill; all I need to do is successfully complete and defend my thesis at some point in the school year to graduate. So, I want to do a student internship during the year and specifically I want to do it in Shenzhen (for personal reasons).

The question is, can I legally do an internship in Shenzhen while I'm still enrolled at a school in Beijing? Should I attempt to get my residence permit moved to Shenzhen when I renew my X1 student visa for the new school year?

No idea if anyone has any experience with this, but I'd love to hear your thoughts. I'm seriously trying to keep everything strictly legal before having to resort to any grayer measures to get to Shenzhen.

I am not familiar that much with student's Gov. regulations, but I think, you could get all info from SAFEA (Foreign Expert Bureau) in Shenzhen/Guangdong.

Enter 'safea' in search above for address and contact no. of Provincial Gov., and dial them for an advice out of the 'horses mouth'.

A:It's up to the employer if they want to hire you that's fine most cities today require you to take a health check every year when renewing the working visa if you pass the health check and you get your visa renewed each year I know teachers that are in their 70s and they're still doing great -- ironman510
