Received my work permit, need to get the Z visa, wondering if anyone had a company to recommend since I am too far to do it myself.

How did you get a FEC before getting a Z visa, or should I ask what do you think is a working permit? Maybe you got something confused?
Usually you:
A. Get a Z first from a company that sponsored you.
B. Then you get your FEC..
C. Last you'll get your RP (Resident working Permit.)
Enlighten us please..

I disagree ironman.
From memory, sorrel is correct in what she says below.
In my case it was further complicated because the company had to apply for a license to employ foreigners.
I have a document somewhere with all the steps. i will look it out, condense it and get it ready for cutting and pasting.
In my case, I don't have a degree, so I had a hell of a time with the local employment office to prove I was qualified for the job. They even wanted a high school graduation diploma, something that does not exist in my home country.
I don't have an FEC. I have a brown work permit book. i wonder if there is a different process between the two?
If I have time tomorrow, I will post the process I had to go through.

I guess its a different situation, I got my Z visa in Philippines and then entered China, and next I was taken to the Fec labor office to show my BA degree and the next day we went to the PSB for the resident permit.
Hmm...They sent me two forms,
Invitation letter and
Working Permit.
Any insight would be helpful.
ironman510:
that's not working permit it's an invitation letter to allow you to work in china and it says you're qualified.
before i applied for the 'Z' visa my Uni sent me the following 3 documents:
Working Permit
Invitation Letter
Confirmation Letter of Invitation
I made a couple of copies of each to keep for myself
i brought these along to the embassy along with the application

I wonder if you have the same IP as the OP.
Anyway, I always take people at face value so have posted an answer below. The OP does not need you.
To the OP..... do not reply to this guy.
If you have the required documentation, you don't need anyone to help.
Just go to the Chinese consulate nominated in your invitation letter . This will normally be in your home country. Getting the actual visa is a formality if your paperwork is in order.
Most Chinese consulates have an online booking system. The Chinese visa office in the UK has a very easy step by step online guide to help you all the way.
Don't pay money to the sharks. Do it properly.
Unfortunately, you do normally have to do it in person. After all, if you can't afford to get to your nearest Chinese consulate, how can they expect you to have the money to get to China? Most countries have similar rules when it comes to issuing work visas.
ScotsAlan:
Just wanted to add.
In my case, I done the health check before I applied for the Z. I was in China already on an F visa when the Z application went through. A legitimate F visa of course.
When I presented my sealed health check certificate to the staff in the UK Chinese visa office they all had a good laugh at me. Not required.
You need the health check cert to apply for your residence permit. You do it when you get here.
The problem is that different consulates seem to have slightly different rules.
The rule of thumb when dealing with Chinese officials is that you need to have all the documents that you can possibly imagine they need. Chances are they will ask for the very one you don't have. Then wait for you to come back with the missing one before they tell you they want another one....but that's in China. Not in the consulates.
Your answer is easy to find on the website of your country's China consul website. They are very helpful.
Please tell us if your application is succesful.
Here are the instructions I was given by an agent when I was applying for a Z visa:
Step 1: Submit and apply for approval
Step 2: Medical Exam and get the result
Step 3: Apply for the Alien Employment License
Step 4: Apply for the Invitation Letter
Step 5: Apply for Employment visa (Z visa) to enter into China (home country)
Step 6: Apply for <Registration form of Temporary Residence for Visitors> with Z visa.
Step 7: Apply for Alien Employment Permit within 15 days after entering China with Z visa)
Step 8: Apply for Alien Residence Permit (within 30 days after entering China with Z visa)--Need interview
I have just cut and pasted from another document. I am not sure what step one is.
Steps 1,2,3,4,7 and 8 were done with the agent.
Steps 5 and 6 I had to do myself. It turned out however that I did not need to do the medical before going for the Z. I could have done that after I entered China.
What happened to criminal background checks, and their authentication by the embassy??
in sz, there is no need to apply for the criminal background check.
and the step mentioned above is right in sz.
