Q: Summer vs Winter

I live in Wuhan where the weather is quite honestly pretty awful:

Summer - Hot, hot, hot! Known as one of the 4 furnaces of China. Every year I discover a new place that I'd previously never thought it was possible to sweat from, and my electricity bill goes through the roof due to excessive air con use.

Winter - Not as cold as the North, normally about 0 - 10 degrees, but lack of double glazing, central heating and shoddy building quality means it's just as cold inside as it is out. You spend 4 months without ever being able to take your coat off or feel your toes. The only heating option is to turn the air con to hot, which results in it coughing out tepid air once every 10 minutes, but still drives the electricity bill through the roof.

Spring and Autumn are nice but last for about a week and a half each.

Basically I spend all summer wishing it was winter, and all winter wishing it was summer. How about where you are, which is the lesser of the 2 evils?

Im a winter person, this year we went back in March when it was still minus 18 c but i loved every minute we were there.
From the 5 hour train trip looking at the snow covered forests from the comfort of my sleeper berth drinking hot coffee .
to the snow fights with the kids . ohh and watching people slip on the ice .
Definitely better than summer for my money.
don't know if i would feel the same in minus 47c though.

Ideal China for me would be: 'Oct-May SE & June-Sep NE', similar as in USA: 'FL&MA, NJ'. It's called 'Summer-year-around'.

I am now in Guizhou with everything mild, except 'water-from-da-sky'surprise.

We can 'rain' here.

I like it here....  year round  ....  grew up in the snow and ice, do not need to see it anymore...maybe a skiing vacation, but certailnly not at my home. It does get hot and humid, but I like it. Just the thought of winter clothing and boots and scraping windows and shovelling driveways drives me nuts.
