I've been looking at TEFL courses. The one in China that I did look at was not internationally accredited. Do the Chinese want any particular accredited courses and does a 100 hr course online make much difference over a 60 hour course. I also noted that one 100 hour course is 20 modules and another 11.
Do any internships pay for flights?

You really need the Cert IV which has over 100 hours, because you need to get some practical teaching experience. I would get one accredited in a western country to be frank, otherwise the one you get somewhere else might not have any weight behind it. I have a Cert IV from a certified Australian RTO, just in case I need to teach in Australia
100 hour course makes a huge difference. If you try to come at a reputable school with a half-assed teaching course and no experience they'll laugh in your face.
you can get your tesol cert in beijing its a 30 day course
If you really dedicate yourself, you can knock out a 100 hour diploma course in maybe 2 1/2 weeks as long as you do a section everyday. It usually takes about 24 hours for an online tutor to grade your assignments and send them back. The teaching section of my course was 60 hours and then I had a 40 hour grammar component. I skipped the grammar material and did the final exam and passed it. If you paid even the slightest attention in grammar class then you should do ok on it.
it's easier to take an on line course, than go to Beijing. My question was about accredited courses and which ones were the best.
i dont think you need accredited course, ive worked at 6 different schools and the most attention they ever paid to my TEFL cert was when i said in the email requesting a job that i had one...I got the cheapest i could find online, 100hrs with a free young learners supplement course learnt alot....
