I'm still using Ctrips because I can pay in 2 seconds with a scan of my cell phone &  Alipay app. ( I guess since Ctrips bought skyscanner we might have the same features soon.)

I usually use Ctrip for domestic stuff, but go direct to the airline for flights outside of China (although, I also compare with other websites!)

http://www.momondo.com/ is pretty good. It's a flights search engine and gives you a range of options and prices.
