Q: Is there a news program that only shows the bad stuff happening outside China?

I've heard of a TV news program that spends 20 minutes on the good deeds taking place around China and then, not joking, spend the last 10 or so minutes counting off the disasters happening anywhere outside.

Is there any truth to that? Anyone know the name of the channel and program, so I could take a look at it? I've been told even Chinese people make jokes about this program.

Chinese makes jokes about it, it's because they NEVER pay enough look to this program, they just simply use their "old way" thought to judge a program. Furthermore, they didnt learn hard about their own country yet but simply listened to everyone's gossips.

All major things from around the domestic and overseas area are showed on CCTV. They are just pretty slow for some news and THE WAY they make the program are pretty out of date and boring....THAT'S IT......

No, there isn't such TV program.
I have seen my wife watching some TV programs showing couples, children or other having problems, but their stories is just any other common stories you would see in a Western entertainment TV channel.
In China, you have to show that all the bad things are still under control, let me give you some examples:
1) Sichuan earthquake : a terrible catastrophe that killed 69'197 people, injured 374'176, 18'222 are considered missing and left around 4.8 million people homeless. Now, what did you see on CCTV, mainly images of soldiers, doctors, etc providing their help to those in need. No images or comments from those who complained about the slow response of the government, or that the government asked them to sign some documents where in exchange of money, they won't say that the government was responsible for the bad construction of the buildings.
2) Recently, the little girl who was bumped and killed by a truck without no one coming to her rescue, except a old woman. What did they show on TV, the company who granted money for the child and her mother for the hospital fees and also money for the old lady. Nobody would inquire about what's the government policy on preventing, no such accident, but such lack of humanity to people.
3) Haïti earthquake : show only UN Chinese soldiers providing help to Haitian people, how they thanked them for their help. Barely one comment about the disastrous situation in Haiti.
Chinese media are controlled and news, especially bad ones that concern China, should be kept under strict control as well as news regarding rebellions, revolutions that currently occur in the Middle-East.

Localla:

You are all bullshits in your 3 samples here...I got know all things from them ..but yes I have to say the scenes to be shown on the tv are selected and they did stress the rescue army, etc......I could totally understand why they do this (which i wont tell you here)....but the important thing is I had known it....i know it......from tv....Xiaoyueyue accident ..yes it's the no humanity..no one denied it...no one said we should not prevent it in the future..NO ONE...(there is a similar accident once happened in Texas..do a search about it...and see what american talked about it...CHINESE are so much so much better than them!! )....you CANT EXPECT CHINA to be like any DEVELOPED country in "less 50years"...you just CANT...Roma isn't built in ONE day.....we should not simply blame all bad things to goverment!!.(nor I say they shouldnt been blamed)...JUST ppl ppl ppl ...too many ppl...even well-educated ppl they talk and think alike they are still in 30years ago....this is the BIG problem of China!! ..I want to say I'm THE Chinese, I know Chinese much much better than you....much much more than you....Your Chinese level isn't enough for you to REALLY judge a Chinese tv program yet......and I say this is not simply to beat down your points here, just simply tell you you DIDNT understand what you had seen from a Chinese tv program yet.....I don't know your wife's Chinese level and Chinese knowledge...I just know toooooo many Chinese they only know WHITE and BLACK about a thing....
