Q: is there such a thing as evening courses?

Another poster asked about ceramic classes in Qingdao. Has anyone come across evening classes - that are more interest based than for a purpose? Certainly across Europe many schools have interest based courses available to the public in the autumn and spring. During my last 2 years in a 3rd category city there weren't any. But in 1st category cities, is there such a thing?

Here in town, as far as I know, the only offering is an old folks university where they have different courses in crafts, cooking, superstitious garbage and so on. You need to be 55 to play. But there are people that go and play the cello at night and such, I just don't think it is large scale organized classed but private sessions.

I have yet to see anything sensible going on during evening time. People go do public dancing, KTV or sit at home watching TV, or go shop.

btw. have seen Chinese classed for working expats offered at night.

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
