Q: Trips to China, do you get jet lag?

I went to China , I had hardly any sleep the night before, up all day, took the red eye flight to China 26 hours, hardly slept, arrive in China , up all day, come back to hotel at 3am for bed, for the next three days I slept 2 hours. Now that I'm home I'm jet lagged ( I guess), day 4 and still tired, I got up last night and thought I was still in China. I realized I wasn't when I breathed some fresh air. I bet my septic tank smells better than some of those streets..

What best works for me... don't sleep at least six hours before you plan to go to bed... that way you wake up hungry and will help train your body to wake up on time after that.

I'm destroyed for almost a week when I come to China. I'm like the nerd at a sleepover who falls asleep at 7pm.

I fly back and forth many times a year. Coming to China is the easy trip, and going back home is always a bitch. Forcing yourself to stay awake until a normal local bedtime is key, and drinking always helps. Wink

I take prescription uppers too, still bagged, Think I'll try some of the wine I bought and didn't take with me.

Red_Fox:

Ha ha! Prescription uppers? Since when has crystal meth been re-categorized as "prescription uppers"?  Fuck I can't sleep!  Fuck I can't sleep!

Now, for a prescription downer... Ahhhh, that's better...

Im the same as most here. Coming to China has always been a breeze, but going back to Canada , Im screwed for 3 days or so.... and not in a good way.  Anyone know why that is? Why its only one way?

I also just assumed that for me, China is a 13 hour flight or so and its 15 hours ahead, so when you land, it kinda , sorta feels like the right time for your body, but going back your landing at the same time you started, so your body doesnt know what the hell is going on.

I dunno, just a guess.

I read that it takes a day to recover for every hour difference, 12 hour difference. When  come home from China I stay up until bed time, but I sleep pretty much around the clock for 3 weeks. When I come to China I'm not tired even after a long flight, I'm guessing jet lag only hits me when I fly east, I don't know why.

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
