Q: ugh,,, anymore Northern European descent...
people on this forum? Is forum the right word? Students share photos of me,,,, ugh,, I'm not albino,,, but close,,,, ugh,,, I don't like. :( extra-white English/German like me look weird in E/SE Asia. I sure wish I could tan.
so, question is,,, don't u think it is weird to be white? I don't like it.

Dude - as Blondie said people here stare all the time at anything that isn't unusual.
Also consider this - you may be stared at for being whiter than them (which, apparently, should make all the girls jealous!!!) AND all the people for being black... the only ones not stared at are the Asians... and when they're not Chinese and can't speak the language,, it simply blows their minds! There's a LOT of ignorance here. If you can't deal with this level of ignorance, leave. (at least the part where you are)

Why would skin color be an issue? It never was to me! Not mine or anybody else's.
I like my 'weird' look in China .... 'your eyes are blue' by my students and I see 'green' in the mirror.
I have 'weird' thing in my family as a starter: my pop was white-white and my mom is also white, but with black hair and a bit darker skin. My sis and I don't look alike whatsoever.
I regularly pose for the photo with my 'sh-tou' out .... as 'Don't ask me again!'.

yeah,,,, genes are weird. in my bro/sis group three of us look the same,, and two of them looked the same. Can't ever figure out genes. But what I'm pissed about is I should not be fkn Albino! Albino is an illness. A deformity. Shiiiit... I'm not full-blown albino,, but too fkn close,,, pisses me off. like I don't have enuf shit in my life without borderline Albinism? You are wrong! Albino isn't illness. You might have some genes of your uncle or aunt or other close relatives.
You can't stay in the sun forever or less (me) and my sis arrives at the first day on the beach already 'brown'. 
As kids, I was like: 'Wow, today I am going to get some tan .... you?' 
You have 'problem', because you don't match. What should I say 'cause all my adults are MDs and I should be constantly under MD's control as an insulin-dependent-diabetic, but 'fok-them', I ain't under control of anybody!
However, last time I was at the check-up (some 3 years ago), my Endo-MD called me 'doctor' ....LOLOLO ... after she saw my lab results.
I guess, she wanted to match me to my family.... O2, o2

When I heard the first time, what I am required to do to keep glucose in level, I simply refused. I was young punk, who came home at 5 am, not wake-up at 6 am and exercise.
I just run away and keep replying 'I am busy at the moment!', but then glucose got so high, I had to go under the treatment.
When they lowered glucose on the normal level (140 mmol) my lower extremities-hips down start to shake. Constantly! MDs never saw such thing, but I was literally hooked on sugar. I ended up in the Mental ward ....
Now in the Mental ward, they just observed my behavior, not blood glucose as they do in Endo-ward.
So, I went to the shop at the reception and got myself a big chocolate bar. 1/2h or so after I munch half of the bar, glucose went up and all shaking stopped. Man, I didn't sleep two months 'cause of shaking....
After I demanded exit out of the Mental ward and spoke to my sis about it, MDs figure it out, they levelled me too quick.
'Sane certificate' followed soon after .... 
my normal skin colour is white combined with red hair - hence major problem with sun burn. (i avoid the sun the best i can)
origin? Genetics.
none of the other members of my immediate family are cursed with red hair (thankfully dark red), but a random red-head is normal where i am from.
in the land of homogeny anything that is not black hair/dark eyes is a free tourist attraction.

Who doesn't avoid the sun? You age quicker (skin) if too much sun exposure.
'add-it': none of my family members is glucose intolerant, i.e. diabetic. None by far .... It was first time detected as I was 3m old, but matter retreated/normalised till my sis marriage .... we were 'cooked' for some two weeks, constantly. Then, I had ME for new job and ....
I'm glad I could hear from icnif and blondie.... made me feel better. can see i'm not the only laowei here...... but i still wish i weren't all whitish.

or in other words 'be happy with what you have/got (even if you don't have an umbrella at rainy....).
Once in San Diego, somebody driving RR said to me: 'I can make you famous/rich!' .....
.... my re: 'You don't have enough money for that!' and I walked away with some US$200 in my pocket ... Even today, I am still not sure where I got this 'power' from!

it is only in china that red hair is a 'curse' as it seems to be an invitation to pervs and the socially inept to get all 'handsy' on it - which i don't tolerate at all.
thank **** for the variety of hair and eye colours in northern Europe where they are accepted as normal and not a 'zoo attraction' to the gawping locals

If they stare, you (I ... ) have 2 options:
1. stick your sh-tou out, by not looking with eyes at the starer, just point your tongue toward the area, while you're passing by.
2. put your index finger on the lower eyelid and open the eye wide and stare back. This move has the best effect, if you stop and turn toward the starer, then 'index move'...
Both moves have very embarrassing-feed-back and I started to use it with kid-watchers first. ... One kid in Fujian followed me with the index move and stared back at me ... that was the best 're' I've ever got in China.
Now, when I do it to adults, some of them blush ... Chinese blush.
Did you know, real meaning of staring is 'I like you!' or 'I am interested ...'?
I mean, you could have several dates per day just by going for the milk in AM.
It isn't, they stare because your skin is whitish or your hair is red. They stare because EVERY laowai looks like ET to them. They've never seen anybody else but Han.
Step into their shoes for a minute ... Wouldn't you stare at the first Asian or African person you would see?

Heeh, I'm among the 20-ish% Germans with Southern European black hair and eyes, even though my family has 100% German origins certified, guess I'm lucky on that one, I get a lot of 'shuai' from the girls, but no weird people trying to touch my hair like my blonde friends.
