Q: unlocking a foreign iphone
I have an iphone 3gs that is locked. Is it hard to get a good jail break and unlock in China?

Getting it unlocked is easy. Getting it unlocked with trusted programs and not have them add any additional unwanted softwared while they do it... will that depends on your luck.
Bring it to your local phone center. Or, there are plenty of programs that are easy to use on the internet that will allow you to do it yourself. Just google "jailbreak iphone"
I once paid $10 for a "code" to unlock my Telus phone in Canada (Blackberry) ......after numerous attempts to do it myself...I gave up .....but I did find an East Indian guy in Abbotsford that did it in about 2 minutes at his store for $20.
don't know if the code I bought was useless, or if it was me that was stupid.
simple if you know what you are doing, I guess is my point, and I'm sure lots of these folks here (China) know what they are doing.

have you iPhone 4S and want to unlock the imei, use Unlock IMEI iPhone 4S tool to breaks it. and make iPhone free from selected network
My GF has one of my iPhone4s that the best hackers in China can't unlock, I have asked her to send me the IMEi number and I'll get it unlocked. Still waiting for her friend to help her get the number.
This question is too old to answer, that iPhone3 bit the dust long ago.

TEDBayer is correct, you'll need to find a friend in your tech district that can use your IMEI (imei) number and unlock that way. It worked on my friends iPhone5
It's easy to unlock a foreign iphone...we are living in a technology age this sort of thing shouldn't be a problem....then again...
