So okay, here's the deal:
I came to China on a multiple-entry F business visa. Number of entries is "M", and valid until Feb of 2013.
I first arrived in China on Feb 14th. On April 4th, I went to Hong Kong and paid for a single-entry Z visa (valid 30 days).
Some disagreements with the school, and our contract is voided. My question: Is my multiple-entry F visa still playable? I'm certain the school has voided my Z (it will expire in 3 days without the residence permit, which wasn't given to me).
So I'm wondering if my F visa is still good (have another 30 days before I must exit -- as I exited and re-entered China on April 4th), or if somehow the Z visa supersedes it?
Thanks for any/all advice,
Jason

In my current passport I have at least 4 Chinese visas already expired. I have noticed, however, that Officials at Customs as I enter or exit China, have drawn either a diagonal line or an elongated "V" on the expired ones. Have you looked at your "F" visa to see if they also drew a line with ink or similar?. Mine are either a line from the "1" to the "7" o'clock positions, right on center of visa vertically.
Otherwise, in theory, when you got your Z visa in Hong Kong, your F visa would have been automatically canceled, even if no marks where made on the visa itself, since it is not possible to have two valid different visas at the same time
my question is why would your school send you to Hong Kong for a Z visa that only lasts 30 days as its normally a tourist visa you get for 30 days? And if it was a legitimate Z visa for 30 days which sounds strange maybe they just used you for 1 month and now they dont need you anymore and did everything above board and legal with regards to your Z visa.
I thought you could only hold 1 visa at a time so when you got you Z visa your other visa would have been canceled. How come you came on a 1 year business visa- seems wasted now, i think your only options are if you want to stay in China to go to the PSB and request a tourist extension if you can or go back to the same route as you came on.

a work ("Z") visa granted for 30 days means that the visa allows you to enter China, but legally does not allows you to work until you go to PSB and other government agencies and get your FEC (or finish getting it), your work permit and your residence permit. To accomplish that is that you are given 30 days from the day you enter China. This is why the visa is valid for 30 days.
Your work permit allows you to work then, and your residence permit allows you to live in China for the length of contract, which is normally from 9 months to one year. Both work permit and residence permit are tied to your place of employment, and this is why if you change jobs, you must get new ones.
He was sent to Hong Kong because in China you can not legally work with a business visa, you must have a work visa.

o right i did not know that, yes i know you need a Z visa to work legally, but i still wander what his business is coming with the business visa. But to answer his question i think im right in saying that can only hold 1 visa at a time so his original visa must of been canceled?
You need to exit now, if the Embassy did not put a stamp on the visa, doesn't mean it's not canceled. It is canceled on their computer system which is the predetermining factor on a valid visa. Go and get a different visa. If you have 3 days to exit, it's too late to visit the PSB to get a ten day extension stamp. You can but you will have to pay a small fine fore it takes 5 days for the visa process. Two words of wisdom for you:
At this point, you can hire an agency to help you but the cost would be about the same if not more than a trip to HK
Next time try not to piss of your employer before they fully finish the resident permit
