Most Chinese women are relatively thin, they don't have that Irish land whale look. I was wondering, for expat women, does it have an impact on how you feel? If you look bland and carrying a few extra pounds, how do you feel when you're next to thin women? Expat, male and female, are used to get the attention when walking down the streets, but how do you react to that particular attention?
Is is why I see so many westerner women on a diet or looking for those mythical Chinese diets?
that's why its hard for western women to find chinese boyfrens .. chinese boys are usually thinner than these western girls ..
Even though I don't have a Chinese bone structure (in other words, I am not that thin), I have never worried about that. I never had the idea that Chinese people thought I was too big or too plump.
I think Chinese people look different towards foreigners as they do towards themselves, in the way that they are less critical towards foreigners. Many Chinese people think certain Westerners look very beautiful or handsome, wereas most Westerners would think those people don't look that special, or even think they're ugly.
to be looking beautiful is desire of every woman in the world. chinees ladies are smart, thin and more attractive already so they do not need to start any dieting plan as westren women have to do.

you really are out of touch with reality, just about every chick i meet here is dieting
A lot of Chinese girls eat less because they are afraid to get fat. They're just lucky to have small bone structure to begin with. Yes, I think it is different in their eyes. I am thin, but I'm not Asian thin. They still say I am thin. My Chinese friend is smaller than me, she thinks her legs are fat. It's always a personal thing, isn't it? They think they're fat, but even if someone else is slightly bigger then them, they'll think that person is thin.
I am fat, I've always been and I guess I will always be, the only concern I have in China is the size of the clothes are too small but i have the same problem in Spain so it doesn't really bother me anymore. About how Chinese people see me maybe I cared in the beginning but not anymore cos even if I was skinny I know I would still see myself fat beside a Chinese girl. I think feeling selfconsious is something that accurs more in the teen years and early 20s as I get older (not too old. I am 27) I realise how stupid I was for getting upset over this type of stuff. I also have a great bf that reminds me everyday how much he loves to have more to hold .

biodamon: Is that the wrong term? lol it could be a literal translation from Spanish : /
There are people with complexes everywhere. I, personally don't have a problem with my body. Its a cultural difference and its about personal taste. I'm not big where I come from but, by comparison, I am here.
Its a mind set that you have to get into while you're here. "They just don't know or get it"
I can't take another one too serious that tells a perfect stranger that their "arms and/or breast are too big".
I laugh it off and tell them maybe yours are too small. Its completely lost on them but whatever.
Just be true to yourself.
I don't feel complexed or jealous at all here, and I've never felt like an object of scorn or disgust, quite the contrary. As long as you're not clearly overweight, you'll find yourself often being praised (much more than I've ever been back home, anyways).
Different tastes for different people. Not all Chinese guys like the thin, meek-looking girl. Many are a little intimidated at first, but I think that has more to do with the character (they think) Western girls have, rather than actual physique.
