Q: What are the best ways of shaking off Chinese phone stalkers?
I made the terrible mistake of giving my phone number to a girl I met at Starbucks. Since then, she's been texting and calling me ALL the time. I have no interest in her but she just doesn't take a hint. I don't want to change my number, so how can I stop her from harassing me?

I just simple ignore all calls and messages. Eventually they will understand their calls are not wanted, nor welcome.
Most mobile telephones that I have seen in China have a "block number" feature both for telephone calls and for messages. You need not change your number at all. Flip through the different apps on your telephone, please, and look for this feature. Any time she calls you, she will not be able to reach you as your appear will be "engaged" to her. Additionally, messages she sends you will simply not be delivered.
Let someone else answer your phone to make it seem like you don't use the number anymore. When she calls and the other person is on the line she will be confused and once it happens numerous times I guarantee you she will get the hint and never call you again.

From her perspective she (she's Chinese right?) probably believes she is doing nothing wrong and will not take "a hint". Time to take out the big guns my friend. Be straight with her.....or gay, that may work too. Nah, she probably wants to practice her English, (or get an iPad2) so telling her you are gay won't help. Tell her you're broke.
I agree with 981977405- I have a Blacklist feature on my phone that blocks calls from people I don't want to be bothered with; also blocks unwanted texts as well. One downside is they can always use another number to call you..

My blacklist takes up to about 25 numbers. If they are able to use 25 different numbers, then I would say that they are rather devious to say the least and that, at least on my part, would probably provoke some words, some strong words.
There comes a point that you can't be the nice guy anymore and you just have to stop hinting and flat out tell her to F off.
really?!?!?! how come i never have this problem with chicks, aways dudes that find ways to get my number like , by getting it from the china mobile CSR.
this is very simple, tell her you only want to have sex with her and her roomate in a 3 way, everytime she calls tell her.

I basically agree with Crim - though perhaps not so crudely.
Tell her that you were interested in her cos she's cute, and you're really only after her for a girlfriend/sex. That's why you gave her your number. If she's not interested, then she shouldn't be ringing you constantly - because that's the message she's giving you - she wants your body (or money...). This way, she'll either stop calling/messaging, or you score!
IMHO, giving out my phone-number is only for someone I trust a bit, or someone I'm interested in.. if none of the above, no chance!
I intend to get a seperate phone for when I start tutoring, and will give out this number randomly, but tell them it's only for sms.
Rather than buy a separate telephone, I use a telephone with a dual sim card exactly for those reasons. One number for close friends and associates and the other number for business purposes. When I don't want to hear from either one or the other, I simply close that SIM card. They both store and log unanswered calls, allowing me the freedom to decide whom I will call back and whom I will not call back.
let other woman answer that call ,she will more confused and pissed off !!!!!
