Q: What are the future results of the sexual harassment avalanch?

It started with Hollywood, then the media, and now the politicians.

I can't wait for the academic world to get hit by women coming forward about their lecherous professors.

I suppose this is all good and should have come out when Clinton was getting blowjobs in the whitehouse, not a problem for me except doing it during business hours.

My problem is what are the unintended consequences for this that we don't see now.

The metrosexual male saying I feel your pain and dressing like a female to get laid by a progressive leftist college coed. Males will lie and act any way you want for a piece of ass.

My business colleagues in America who now never speak to women at the office or even make eye contact.

Vice President Pence was laughed at last year when the press found out he would not meet a female reporter without his wife present, and staff could not work after five o'clock at the office if only one female was present with many males.

Women around the world are being ignored and birth rates are falling. Men don't care for college, don't care for dating, and becoming less interested and afraid to speak at work to females.

The repercussions of this are not even on the minds of most people, but even myself, I have had a biased against men for many years, I only worked for female bosses in China because every male boss tried to short me on my pay every time. I don't know how the world will work with women running everything and the men basically saying "screw it, I don't care", but its coming very soon.

What is the upside and the downside in 10 years. I don't look at the current, but when all these women start coming out about liberal professors taking advantage of them in these elite universities, I am going to enjoy that with a good bottle of Scotch.

There is also the women in Europe and Asia watching this open lynching publicly of all the perverts in the male society of America, will this cause a domino effect in the future. Will business have to start buying sexual harassment insurance and how about non hetero harassment claims?

How long can Europe and China keep a lid on this open shaming of men in public?

What triggered this assault? what caused this to happen now? Some say the DNC is wiping out Clinton with this and his friends to clear the decks for a quasi moderate, slightly Christian candidate for the 2020 election, some say they can't take out Trump for sexual harassment when the left is guilty also and Trump unlike most wimps on the Republican side did not turn the other cheek and threw their hypocrisy right back in their face, WHY NOW, this would have been great for the left to clean up the harassment issue 3 years ago for a woman to run and win the presidency, but that would have brought more female voters to the progressive side in the past election.

For me the big consequence is that it seems the 'innocent until proven guilty' principle that most western law relies on seems to be falling apart.

Peoples lives, families and careers have been totally destroyed over the last few months based solely on allegations. It seems like a media driven witch hunt where no actual proof is needed to totally destroy a mans life. I find it a terrifying precedent, and if it's allowed to continue western society will be in a whole pile of s**t

ambivalentmace:

Some fraternities in America have written contracts for friends with benefits now, so they want be sued later in life or destroyed later in life by an old fling they had in college. I do think if women came speak openly without caring about the shame, that a statute of limitations should be established on this crap being used in the press, never mind a court room, so you have a recourse against defamation.

The Roy Moore story was really pathetic because the press never mentioned that 50 years ago, you could marry in Alabama at 14 years old, but don't let facts get in the way of a good story.

Here comes the academic avalanche, these left wing progressives perverts are going to go down so bad the song "It's raining men" might come back to the top 40 bill board charts. These sanctimonious hypocrites have been doing this for years, glad to see the dark days of reckoning and the Universities get to cut these egotistical, know it all blow hards with their high salaries that never get their finger nails dirty unless it's screwing a coed for an "a" in the class. Good riddance, let the shaming begin. If anybody thinks this would happen with President Hillary, good luck in your bubble. The right more exactly Trump has called the bluff of the press and the left and stop being a good little christian boy scout like Mcain and Romney, turn the other cheek, hell, hussein had it right, they bring a knife, we bring a gun. God, I love this shit, long overdue. The right has finally stopped begging to be liked and being tolerant and is now dishing dirt just like the left always has. It's about time Republicans took the yellow stripe off their backs and learn how to attack and fight. The left will always hate the right, so stop trying to be gentlemen above the fray, Attack, destroy, and never back down. screw being nice.

It's nothing new. Accused pedophiles get regularly entrapped by anti-pedo hunters online, and the information gained is used more to shame the victim for the hunter's sense of victory. Such information should be passed on to authorities, not to every neighbour on the guy's Street, so wife and children must bear the shame. When it leads to a suicide by the accused, these hunting groups issue the most disingenuous apology, while accepting no blame.

The overwhelming majority of the accusations are true based on the accused admittance and overwhelming support evidence.

For idiots who like to harass and grope women, it's a long needed wake up call .

I'm not talking about women sleeping their way into their position and now calling it harassment rape or women who engaged in consensual sexual affairs and now blaming the 'man' for abusing their power like the Today Show idiot making her rounds on TV shows.

And this is already happening on campuses

ambivalentmace:

All this is fine, but what are the consequences we don't see yet, I actually don't trust men in management positions who are constantly trying to  stab you in the back when I was in the corporate world, I was very good at the game, but really hated the game.

Is this going to flame out or be a world changing event, China would be a hard nut to crack but men are useless in this country, playing computer games, lazy in school, and expect women to wait on them hand and foot. I actually hope this changes very soon. I really don't believe this is just an American problem, but will this be the catalyst to fix the problem globally, certainly sexual harassment is not an isolated American problem.

That's the problem in a nutshell. The standard bearers for the #metoo movement are all actresses who can attribute their success to looks as much as acting skill. They marketed themselves and their sex appeal in a way that undermines the #metoo core message, that women are not to blame for men's predatory sexism. It's akin to "don't touch the stripper". You shouldn't touch the stripper of course, but it's not like the women didn't do anything to elicit the behaviour. #metoo should be more grassroots and organic, but instead it is commandeered by dishonest hypocrites who drain the movement of legitimacy and validity.

Sexual harassment in the workplace is not about the single inappropriate grope or comment.

It can be the relentless non-stop low-level comments on physical appearance or women's natural bodily functions that occur day after day from colleagues.

It can be the boss who thinks it is ok to 'compliment' a woman on how she dresses.

It can be small things that occur day after day that women feel they have to ignore because to draw attention to it can mean that they are not 'a team player'

It can be the comments that are followed by the words 'you can't take a joke'.

When i started out working there was one manager who thought it was ok to have a 'topless' calender in his office (this was an office based job).

women's objections were ignored and it made for a very uncomfortable work environment. I didn't stay long in this company for this and the underlying anti-woman atmosphere.

Many women have had enough, feeling that this sort of thing has been endured long enough, as it can effect long-term performance. Women want to be able to do a day's work without having to ignore the behaviour around them,
or feel they have to accept constant back-ground misogyny.

icnif77:

It can be 'boss-es' who are all men in majority, especially in Holly-weird.

I think, this will be end-result of all this harassments-vibe. More equality to females overall & everywhere ...

Sometimes I really hate predicting and being right, especially when the outcome is something you hope would not happen.

Contracts for sex, what a screwed up world.

ambivalentmace:

As such, the “Consent Conscious Kit” is just an extreme expression of an attitude that grows all around the US – for example, the state of California passed a law requiring all colleges that accept state funding to adopt policies requiring their students to obtain affirmative consent — which it defines as “affirmative, conscious, and voluntary agreement to engage in sexual activity” that is “ongoing” and not given when too drunk, before engaging in sexual activity, or else risk punishment for sexual assault."

Ambi: The article you posted and the topic you originally posted are completely different

There's a difference between sexual harassment, rape,

Ok, just read your full post and you seem to just not get what's happening here.

You mention being a metrosexual, now let's be rational adults is that the only option to being a lewd comment making, groping pig at work? How about understanding that the workplace is not a pickup bar, a pub or your home? First off let's look at the environment, the work environment is like church in a way. Your topic of conversation shouldn't be the girl you banged while in Argentina. And you shouldn't put up clippings from playboy. Your interaction w/ people should be respectful.

Another aspect, you as a man need to understand that things can be easily misinterpreted and that yes you should assume a bit more responsibility.

Let me explain what I mean. (gotta be quick so to the point) don't bang subordinates or junior colleagues. You will be blamed because it will be seen as you will help her get ahead in the company which makes her the victim and other women because it creates an unfair working environment.

to be cont'd

Blondie_:

see my comment about women in the work environment 'who can't take a joke' when a sexual comment is made. Men's poor behaviour has been put as the responsibility of women, not the responsibility of the men themselves who chose to make these comments and act in this way.

for those of you who are married, or have a daughter, would you want them to be in a work environment where they have to zone out/ignore/work though even low-level sexual comments?

if not, why then is it ok for women, in whatever their work environment is, to have to tolerate comments that are not appropriate?

where there is disparity of power, men should be aware how they behave with the women and girls who are around them.

By saying 'My business colleagues in America who now never speak to women at the office or even make eye contact.'; this suggests that men have no self control in what they say and do.

Why is it that European men seem to be able to have a more respectful way of relating to the women they work with?

where there is male entitlement, ego, inadequacy and positions of power over economically (or academically) dependent women, there will be harassment

I agree I used to train managers about this. The example I'd use was how would you feel if a fat ugly gay guy named Al told you you looked sexy? groped you? put clippings from his gay mags up around the office?

There is quite a difference in the articles, my point was the unintended consequences of all of this is making men "gun shy" for lack of a better word to have any communication and contact with females in a work environment or otherwise.

Rationally men should be able to figure out how to have a standard behavior to eliminate these problems, but many are just saying "fuck it" and isolating themselves from female contact altogether. I hope this does not become the norm, but for the guys who conform, the selection of companions might increase. I am not single at the moment, but things do change, I hope the world is full of metro sexuals when i have to find a mate again, the last time was easy since very few men hold the coat up for the lady to put in on, carry her luggage, not her purse, and hold the car door open, still doing this after marriage, women really do want a man to be a man, they just want say this in polite public conversation. The seduction event has definitely got a new twist, the woman says "do you have a condom", and the man, "yes dear, but first sign this contract that your conscious, not under the influence of drugs or alcohol and you want me of your own free will to penetrate and violate your honey pot", "sorry blue ink not black, the courts might think I forged your name on the sex contract". Strange foreplay for the future, maybe they can make a phone app to take care of this while he is following instructions on google to find the G-spot. What a crazy world.
