A:I think it depends on the size of city you're in, but yes, I have been treated better than others. For example, this weekend, I went with some friends on a trip to a town outside of the city. On the bus, there wasn't any sitting room for a while (it was a 40 minute trip) and when a seat opened up, my friend said I could sit down. But I noticed there was a woman standing right beside me, at least twice as old as me, and she also said I should sit down. I said, no, that woman is older than me, she deserves the seat. The lady said it was ok. I asked why, and my friend said that she said it was because I am a foreign teacher. I said, no, you can take the seat, but that woman is older than me, she deserves it. She did get off two stops later, so I guess that's why it didn't bother her, but still. How in the world do I deserve more respect than that woman? Blows my mind. Why should I get stuff just because I'm a foreigner? Honestly it doesn't just blow my mind, it pisses me off. Later on that same bus ride, I did get a seat, but there weren't really any other seats opening up. So a few stops later, I said my friend Alice could sit down. Honestly, she looked more tired than I did. Two stops later she hopped up, but I said she should sit down longer because I did. On the way back, I almost got spit on by an old man.
