The rates for FEDEX and UPS and DHL are outrageous!!! Surely the Chinese exporters must have some secret shipping channels that are affordable?
Check around. Perhaps someone kind and trustworthy is returning to the states for the holidays and can send the package for you when they reach the states. Make sure it's not wrapped as they and customs will want to make sure it doesn't contain contraband.
Try the post office! I think their export courier service is called EMS.
The post office is cheap but no guarantee they will get your package to the West in time for Christmas. Usually EMS takes 2 months.

Send by ship, no not joking. Go to your nearest China Post and ask them to send it by ship, and it'll arrive about 3 weeks or 2 months later for the U.S.A, don't know about other countries.
First, ask yourself this question. Do you really have to? We're adults, we don't need gifts on Christmas, so should be the same for other adults. Next, go to walmart.com, target.com, ebay amazon and order something online (preferably from your home country) and it will make things so much easier. Chinese delivery companies are a pain in the ass with delays and restrictions. Rule of dumb, if there is something special you got in China send it as an anytime gift not as a holiday gift.
Find an online store near x-mas days and choose the best selling product to your home.
