Back in the States, I worked as a stereotype for a few years. The stereotype position has three elements: unemployment mixed with bad jobs, drinking, and chasing tail. As a stereotype, I worked at McDonald's off and on between short stints at other entry level positions. My resume was spotty because I dislike work. I somehow managed to make enough money to consistently drink to excess and chase girls. Some call those hobbies, I call them vocations.

Now I pretend to teach English in China while I continue to pursue my vocations.

For 32 years I was a mobile target for every nutjob terrorist in the world, however after 20 years my employers decided I wasn't an easy enough target so they sent me to be a semi-mobile target in the terrorists countries, after 12 years of that I decided enough was enough and it was a little safer to become a teacher in China.

i was a bs dector , i'm one of the lucky 20 % who can smell bs from a mile away. i worked with another guy who was very good, but i always managed to beat him out.  in what i thought at the time was a good gesture he gave me a tickets to visit china. but it was a trap, my bs dector overloaded and i've been stuck here since.

bill8899:

Did you, by any chance, detect any bs in this topic?

I trained dolphins in Rockingham Western Australia to talk to Japanese and Chinese tourists. Unfortunately most died of flash burns from too many camera shots. Saddened, I came to China to teach English!

I worked my ass off for 35 years covering my ass, working for the government and telling them they were getting ripped off constantly by unscrupulous vendors for government contracts..............  I escaped with my ass and came to China where I believed that these atrocities that I saw at home could not happen, because the Chinese would deal with the improprieties swiftly and without hesitation behead or hang or shoot said thieves of the peoples funds.  Not sure if I was right...... but  Chinese do seem to be getting to some of the bad apples in an appropriate way ......  back home they just change heads.

I know this is a shock but

I was an English tutor at my university, and became a professional ESL teacher upon Graduating. I'm on my third country, and am only 28.

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
