Yeah, the accent is a bit different. And even in Guangdong, difference places get subtle difference, well, some are not subtle.
I'm a CBC that speaks Cantonese. There's not that much difference between HK and GZ Cantonese unless they are from another city'/village in Guangdong. Depending on where they're from, their dialect does inject some differences in tone. However, I would say that the biggest difference between HK and GZ Cantonese is that HK people use a lot more English terms/expressions in their daily speech, whereas GZ Cantonese use a more 'pure' form of Cantonese, ie, Chinese expressions only.
