Q: What do you think of the penciled-in eyebrows thing and other fashion mistakes?

The eyebrow thing is classic. Who needs real eyebrows when you can achieve that manequin look with the simple flick of a crayon? And finally an easy and affordable solution to the male pattern baldness that's been bothering me for years. Nobody will ever notice the difference, it's ingenious.

So what other fashion mistakes have caught your eye? Maybe the 'Sonic the Hedgehog' haircuts some of the hairdressers are sporting. Or those lenseless glasses. (I actually quite like them, I think they're a fashion statement about intelligence and attractiveness). Or maybe those shoes some of the suits wear with the toes so long you can kick someone in the nuts from across the street.

Me i've been wearing the same pair of sneakers for the last four years and haven't worn a suit or visited a hairdressers in God knows how long. Doesn't stop me from enjoying the spectacle though.

  So what are your favs?

that little braided pony-tail thing many parents here force their little boy to wear. I think it looks gross myself. I think it has some sorta weird name,,, like 'Q' or something ?  and it used to have some sort of significance in the old days.   ugh

Hulk:

Manchu queue? It's a symbol of oppression, and Chinese obedience to the Manchu state. If you see them wearing that... well, they're a bit on the special side. Think of it as kids wearing full Japanese garb... pretty sure it's the same thing.

I first learned about the penciled eyebrows when I was a kid. Some old lady lost her eyebrows, so she just used a pencil to make them... reappear. What do I think? Well, whatever floats your boat (as long as your boat isn't floating on something terrible) / beggars can't be choosers.

My Chinese GF is a professional makeup artist. The only makeup she wears is pencil on her eyebrows. I never even noticed until I saw her putting it on. So many Chinese have so little body hair that they have thin eyebrows. The pencil is nothing new. @ Martin, your British, what are the chances that your eyebrows need trimming? Shock)

Pointed shoes have been in for quite awhile, copied from west? I won't wear them, not after the last time they were in, they cause in grown toe nails.

Are there any fashion mistakes? Thats why they call it fashion. Look way back in Britain/ France etc, see powdered wigs etc. I wish we had better fashions, not the ghetto garb.

mArtiAn:

Of course there are fashion mistakes. I should know, I decide such things. Those mocosans and that tie-dyed shirt you wear around the house are definite fashion mistakes. Trust me. And what are you trying to say about Englishmen and their eyebrows? Hmm? I'll have you know the ladies love my mono-brow, or 'power-brow' as I call it. I look like that bald villain from Thunderbirds. Or every member of Oasis.

Parents shaving logos or panda ears onto their child's heads. Absolutely silly to look at. Women wearing heels with track suits is another funny sight as is the woman or man wearing the fur coat with gym pants.

That the penciled in eyebrows thing is oftentimes actually tattooed eyebrows. I know several women (they're older granted) that did this. I think it was a fashion statement back in the day.

Fashion gives perfectly normal, boring people the chance to be and look an ass and we all need to be able to look an ass once in a while.

Of course some of us abuse that privilege.

The penciled in eyebrows are just horrific. I do not get it! It makes women look so trashy and unattractive. I also don't get the orange dyed hair and perms or the hair accessories women put into their hair. Did anyone notice that women all tend to use plastic hair-ties? How bad are those for your hair! I also can't get my head around the whole hello-kitty, pink cute thing craze among grown women, hanging teddy key-chains off their purses and the absolute obsession with having glitter embellishment on almost every item of clothing. I also don't get the skin-color ankle socks with skirts and dresses look or why everyone in winter wears the same plastic bomber jacket but in a different color. Or why 90% of the male population all dress the same (striped t-shirt, baggy black or navy trousers, belt with gold buckle, shiny black shoes). I could go on....and on.....
