I have noticed a lot of solar water heaters on roofs so that is a start. One of the biggest problems will be how to deal with all the packageing.

China is starting to invest a lot of money in wind power, especially in remote regions like Ningxia, Xinjiang and Gansu. I guess another measure China has taken in recent years is charging for plastic bags at supermarkets. While I don't know any facts or figures, I'm sure it has made a difference in reducing plastic waste/

China has already put itself on a path to being a global leader in alternative energy sources. It has no choice really since it's already irreversibly damaged vast stretches of its land and water with pollution and over-exploitation. But if the country wants to still be inhabitable after 2050 then it must do much more.
