Q: What happens when a recruiter lies about an area he wants you to go?

Would you stay or would you go?

Besides the fact that he or she gets paid, and you get screwed, nothing else

A recruiter tried this on me as well. I would leave and never talk to the recruiter again. Failing that, find the recruiter and teach him a lesson.

Get your Z visa first. Then it'll tell you which school you're going to, and you'll have their actual address written in English and Chinese. I'll say this again -- and I've already said it 1000 times -- get your fucking Z visa.

This was after I got the Z visa and the RP. I left the job but I am now in problems.

What the heck happened then? If you have the Z, you must bring this up with the PSB so criminal charges can proceed against them. Go straight to the PSB and explain the whole situation. Give them your Z, FEC, passport, invitation letter from SAFEA, etc. Give them everything, and they will help you.

The recruiter held on to the FEC and refused to give it along with the official dismissal letter. I never got and invitation letter from the SAFEC.

PSB is not right address. They are police, and they will often address you to your own Embassy.

SAFEA will support you. It is the same office, where you got your FEC.

I don't get it... Surely you knew the name and location of the school before you signed the contract?

If the school turns out to be different to the one you signed up for, I guess there's no contract.

Get the school to give you a release letter and then get another job.  A legal one is better.

icnif77:

Not necessary.......'I guess, there's no contract....'

FT signs Contract with recruiter, who represents several schools in the area. Recruiter will usually make-up some reason(s) for the change of working location. Recruiter is pushing 'better location(s)' to FT. Once Contract is signed, location will 'suddenly' change….. (because of …..'whatever'...).

The recruiter told me that the school canceled their contract so I can no longer work at that school. I confirmed the information with the school and was told yes. Since I never signed a contract with the school, only with the recruiting agency, I had no choice but to leave. They placed me into a new school which I refused to go because of the location but was told that it was not like the other areas near it. When I got there it was worst. I stayed a little but couldn't take and left. Now I am being blacklisted because I refused to go back to work for the recruiter who wants to exploit me and the situation I have found myself in.

icnif77:

Visit SAFEA! You might need Chinese translator at SAFEA, depend of the size of the city.

Why the fuck did you sign a contract with a recruiter?
Why do you have no letter from SAFEA inviting yuy to work in China?
Why the hell does the recruiter have your FEC?

You're here illegally, that's why. Cut your losses and get your real Z, which is attached to the school you'd be working at. Never sign anything with a recruiter.

tsonj:

Hulk! I need advice not your cussing. Please help me without the cussing. Thank you.

I came here on a visitor's visa, then I go it switched to a Z visa. In my contract the company said they would pay for my visa and my trip to HK to get the visa, but they never did. They even went into my salary and deducted the money they used to pay for the train trip to HK. This was in May. It was when I decided that enough was enough and had other people got involved in my situation I saw the the withdrawn amount in my account yesterday.

It was after I got the Z visa that my problems started with the recruiter. The first thing they did was change one of the clause in the contract...that if I want to resign I have to give them seventy days notice. And they have to send their courier  service to pick up the resignation letter. They said the thirty days law only apply to the Chinese even though I did all the research and find nothing of that fact. He insisted that the law has changed. They held on to my pay when I refused to sign the MOU and told me if I didn't sign I will have to get out of the country. I still have all the correspondence.

How can School withdraw money from your account without your consent? As I know, that's not possible. School can pay your salary short, but they cannot access your Bank account.

Not the school...The recruiter. The same one that you left.

@tson: enter 'Helen' in the search bar on the top of this page. PM me for more! Recruiter or anybody else cannot (Chinese Court probably can?) access your bank account. Recruiter paid you short (deducted) money, before posting it to your account.

Don't take it the wrong way, lass. I'm just trying to place greater emphasis on the mistakes so you won't make them again. Believe it or not, but it took me hundreds of recruiters to find one who wasn't a cheater.

Go to the PSB... go to the damn PSB if you're here legally. Any PSB. Tell them what happened... do it

tsonj:

I did. At first he told me that If I get another job within 30 days I can switch my FEC with another company but then he looked at his phone and saw my name and number then told me I have to bring my FEC then leave the country within 10 days and get another work visa before I can return. He then called the company. He told me to answer the phone when the company called me, a minute later the company called me. I thought this was really strange.

As for signing a contract...I thought that because I was employed with the recruiting company the school didn't have any say in what the recruiter does.

i got to be honest.  sometimes i love reading these stories.  not that i take pleasure in the misery of others, but because i cant understand why this sort of thing still happens with the wealth of information on this site and many others.  i've been here three years and have had three schools.  SAFEA and the PSB normally tend to side with the foriegner.  make use of the resources you have at your dispossal.

tsonj:

I thought that should have been the case but not here in HZ.

What were you teaching? Improper English and poor writing? I am not a teacher, nor do I profess to being a good writer, but Jeezus I seriously wonder how you can teach English when you can't write it.

tsonj:

You are absolutely correct, CharlieB...because I am incapable of teaching English I should continue putting up with the exploitation and the blackmailing. Thanks...I should go jump off a bridge now.

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
