Here's a list of things I asked a few years ago. Take your pick.

Why do people eat with their mouths wide open, then cover them to use a toothpick?

Why are those street-sweeping brooms 7 foot long when the women who use them are only 5 foot tall? I've nearly been swiped off my bike a dozen times by them, they can hardly see you from under those tin-foil covered, bath-mat sized frisbees they wear on their heads, they're like satellite dishes.

Why, when there are perfectly good pavements to walk on, do people choose to take their evening stroll down the middle of the road? Surely they know that half the cars don't have their lights on anyway.

Why does a country so prone to severe condensation choose to tile the floors of its homes in marble? Is China hoping to produce Olympic skaters from this peculiar practice?

Why do girls who need glasses go around squinting instead of wearing a pair for fear of looking unattractive (that squinting look is not a pretty one girls), and girls who don't need them wear lenseless frames?

Why..........is chicken prepared like that? Haphazardly hacked to pieces with a meat cleaver. Is navigating ones tongue through a minefield of razor sharp shards of bone supposed to be an enjoyable part of the culinary experience, because I just don't get it? Mightn't it be as easy to cut said chicken into slightly larger, more accommodating pieces, then simply sprinkle a little broken glass over it before serving?

Why, in a country which has English on its national curriculum, has every student i've ever asked complained that they have no-one to practise it with?

Why, after discussing the specials, ordering a burger, medium fries, a large coke and telling the waitress i'd like to take it away, all in fluent Chinese, does she struggle to give me the price in English (then send me home with a fillet burger, McNuggets and a Sprite)?

And why.........oh why, oh why.........are there wing-mirrors fitted to Chinese made cars, e-bikes and motorcycles? The guys don't use them, and girls, make-up can just as easily be applied using a hand-held.

haha,,, good one about the 'satellite dishes',,,  perhaps they are all part of some Alien RoboDroid Army !?

Can you use a knife and fork? (Joking)  Serious answer...  Nothing.  I'm around Chinese people everyday, anything I want to ask I do.

Why do you have to go on "foreign" websites and try and pretend that you're a foreigner?

Or...Why can you not actually contribute anything to a conversation that you yourself initiated?

Who do you/who is responsible for you   doing things so illogically/shoddily/sloppily/slowly/incompletely/incompetently?

How do you justify your assertion of Chinese superiority?

Why cover your mouth when using a toothpick after everyone saw and heard every single grain of rice being chewed?

Hotwater:

You best me to it! I tried asking a Chinese colleague this question once, in a polite way, and he pretended not to understand the question. Muttered something about not polite for anyone else to see his teeth while he was cleaning them....couldn't answer me when I asked him why it was okay for me to see his tonsils while he was eating!

Why are Chinese people so racists? You guys are so racists you blow American style racism away.

ScotsAlan:

Wow. I am rapidly becoming a single issue poster on here

You have not been following Trump then? I don't mean following the sound bites, I mean listening to his campaign in detail.

Have you listened to the Cruz rants, the Rubio "shut the door" policy, or the Carson " a Muslim can never be President" interview?

I hate racism. And yup, a few years back I thought the Chinese were racist. But I see it differently now that I have a Chinese daughter. It's more of a world ignorance rather than a pure bigoted hatred.

I am not singling out America here. News reports from Germany today say that people cheered as a future asylum center went up in flames.

Yup. I agree that when you get out of the city and go into the sticks, it feels as if you are being singled out as being different. It feels like racism. But is it racism or ignorance?

If you are non white and work in teaching, then yup, you are subject to it more than white Europeans. I know that. And it is totally wrong and unfair.

Ha ha, but to be honest it would be a good question to ask. As a national question. Are you racist or are you just unaware?

Have an up vote :-) But the America v China comparrison part, I totally disagree with.

well the first thing that popped in my head was the dining manners. seriously why would one eat with their mouths open, and spit the stuff on the table, just use a plate or something.

secondly, why is it that there is a dumb explanation for anything wrong, and if there is not, there is one answer, "this is china"

thirdly, why is everything valued in money, friendships, relationships even family. Its like you are surrounded by a bunch of super materialistic scum bags. They would burn up 500k worth of fire crackers but not feed 50 yuan worth of food to a couple of homeless guys.

Lastly i really dont understand the term "Laowai"...foreigner is like "westerner"....and that also only associated with white people.  Africa, middle east and tons of european countries also are in the west too.  and what about the east?...Australia and New zealand is tehnically in the east, no?...

Lastly, O ye to the racism. I havent seen this much racism anywhere in the world. especially from shanghainese people. Im sorry to say it, but shanghainese people might be the most worthless people here. they are lazy, useless and have almost zero worth but are always like, "f#%W waidi ren", news flash: your grand father was from Shandong, whats your achievement in life, being born with a hukuo? cuz i dont see no Phd certificates on your wall. It was these waidi ren from guandong and other places that made china what it is today, you are just eating the baked cake.
