Q: What products/brands do you absolutely avoid buying in China?

With the "recent" string of food scandals and the like, I am losing track of which products and brands to avoid in China.

Are there any products/brands, food or otherwise that you would *absolutely* never buy here?

It doesn't matter what brand you buy.  If it is popular, you can guarantee that there will be dodgy ripoffs of it all over the place.

I agree with Crimochina. I like natural body products, some of which you can find in China, but for a high price. So I brought a lot of that stuff with me. You can call me paranoid, or an idiot (because my suitcases were heavy), but I'm happy to have a piece of home, and I love Burt's Bees.

I bought green soap with green clumps in it. I liked it , smelled great. I avoided the chicken feet etc. in shrink packs at stores. Now I wish I had bought them for souvenirs.

I avoid the products/brands that are fake. I bought a pair of pants it lasted 1 week. Had a Hole in it at the place you wouldn't want to find one. Fake brand clothing for me is probably the number one type of products/brand that I avoid. Electronics aren't so bad.
